Frigidaire FTF530F won't advance

I have a frigidaire FTF530F front-load washer we bought a about 5 or 6 years ago. I am only able to wash in the heavy duty cycle.  All the other cycles will not work.  If I select any other cycle, it will just fill with water.  It won't spin or advance at all.  Lately, my heavy duty cycle is also starting to stick when it reaches the normal wash or the light wash cycle.  If it passes those cycles, then it sometimes sticks in the middle of the cycle.  All it will do is keep filling with water.  I can manually advance it, and it usually works, but I still have to keep checking all the time to make sure it's working.  I'm not sure how much water I have wasted with this machine.  I'm not sure if the timer needs to be replaced. We have never had to repair it.  Please let me know what you think the problem could be!!!!!  Thanks!!

I also have this problem with a frigidaire M#ftf1240fso. The washer will get stuck on cycles, It uses a mechanical timer which Ive tried replacing with no success. Each individual cycle seems to work fine if you advance the timer manually.
I notice that the timer motor (which has a little window so you can see it spinning)
It does not spin constantly just spins now and again, even though it has constant 120V, Is there something switching on the neutral line (not sure if thats even allowed?) or do i have maybe a broken wire or bad connection somewhere??? or am I missing something??? Please help Im struggling!!!

Possibly the timer. next time it wont stop filling turn off the washer. if it still fills you have a water valve issue. Hope for the valve. Timers are big bucks.

We also have a Frigidaire FTF530F 5 Cycle Front loading washing machine - we've had it for 5-6 years. I washed one load this morning - worked fine. Washed second load - and when I went to put in dryer - clothes were soaked. Tried the spin cycle - it just kept washing the clothes. Tried other cycles...same thing. What is wrong?

Frigidaire washer recall

You should contact the company. My washer had a part recalled, which was causing it to throw error codes our all the time. Luckily it was still within the warranty so a replacement part was sent right away. Good luck

Check to see if the door sags at all and doesn't line up correctly with the door latch. Then check to see if the drum wobbles when you rotate it yourself when not in use.

Washer won't do anything!

You have a burned out door assembly. This is very common, min just went out. I purchased a new door latch assembly at my local parts supplier and hubby is replacing now. The part costs $50-$55, but is cheaper than a repair man if you can replace it yourself. Must remove entire front panel from washer to get to door latch to replace, but should fix the problem.

Rumbling noise

Most likely the rear bearing is bad. It would most likely not be cost effective to repair.
