It won't work

My printer will turn onn but won't print and everything is connected propperly too

Hi
Try to figure out if its hardware or software issue.
unplug power adaptor from the back of printer.press and hold the button on printer and simultaneosly plug the power adaptor..if a test page prints out-hardware is fine and issue is with software..to correct software issues-try driver uninstall and reinstall.

Printer won't print. I had to move the desk and everything was unplugged and now it won't print. It is on, checked as default, on-line, I think it may be the port.


  1. Background
    • HP provides details of the problem on its website. The problem usually occur on PC laptops or when printing across a network. HP offers several fixes for the problem.
    Software
    • First, check your Windows print queue and ensure the printer is not set as "Paused" or "Working Offline." This can often clear the problem and resume your printing.

    Resolution
    • The problem can also be caused by printer driver issues. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver. Connecting your printer directly to your computer using a parallel cable may solve the problem, but this may not be practical in all cases as many modern laptop computers do not have a parallel port.
Instructions
    • 1 "Power Cycle" Your printer. Shut down the printer, unplug the power cord from the socket, give it 5 minutes, plug it in again and turn it back on. Try to print.
    • 2 If the printer still won't process a job, shut down and restart your computer.
    • 3 Check your printer cable connections to the computer.
    • 4 Check the printer for any paper jams, check the trays, and also pull out the toner cartridge and/or remove any paper jam, if you find one. Put the cartridge back in. Then try to print.
    • 5 If after completing the steps above, the printer is still not working, click "Start," then "Settings," click "Printers," and the printer folder will open. Make sure your HP LaserJet 5 is selected as the default printer.
    • 6 Double-click your printer, and delete everything from the print queue, canceling all the print jobs. Close out the queue.
    • 7 Right-click on your printer icon and make sure it's not offline. If it is, then click "use this printer online."
    • 8 Right-click your printer, and click properties. Make sure the right port is selected for your LaserJet 5 Printer. If you are using a parallel cable, you are most likely using an LPT port; if USB, then look for a USB connection in the list. If the port connection is correct, try to print again.
    • 9 It's still not printing? Click "Start," then "Control Panel." Double-click "Programs and Features" or "add or remove programs," uninstall your Laserjet printer software, and restart your computer.
    • 10 Insert your Laserjet software and driver disk. Proceed to reinstall your printer software and drivers. Then test the printer again. If it is still not working, you probably will have to seek professional assistance.

Won;t print keeps saying offline


Hi
Try disconnecting the printer completely from power and from the PC.
Reboot the PC.
Connect everything again.
Clear any print queues.
Check for paper jams on the printer.
Now try printing.

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....


I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

"Communication Not Available" message is displayed


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list again, then try to print again.


You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at . Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

My Dell V505 printer won't print documents from the computer, when I press print the printer prints a page of dash's and ticks. there is ink in the cartridges. i've disconnected the power....


Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

On your computer, click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Select the Dell Printer
Uninstall it
Restart your computer
Turn the printer on
Allow the computer to reinstall the device-device for the printer.
Print a test page.

My 1350 won't power up, the power supply is good. Is there a fuse somewhere?


first of all disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer
press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds
reconnect the power cable back to the printer
turn onn the printer
now still if it does not turn onn
connect the power cable of the printer directly to the wall outlet without any surge protector
if still does not work follow the document from the URL below

The printer will only print in black and is very grainy.


first of all check what is the ink level in the cartridge >> disconnect the power cable from the printer and try to turn onn the printer and after that reconnect the poer cable and turn onn the printer >> try to print if the same thing happens >> take out the cartridge and clean the copper contacts in the cartridge and reinstall the cartridges >> it will print an allignment page and check in the page whether all the colours are there and are they solid if they are not solid >> directly disconnect the power cable from the computer >> try with a new set of cartridges and if the same issue persists it is the problem with the printer call hp they should replace the printer if it is in warranty and if the issue is resolved call hp they will replace the ink cartridges ........... thank you

Printer stopped working


Check printer, is it ready/online ? Do a test via keypad of printer and see if printer is ok.

 

If printer is ok then check again cable that goes from it to PC

 

If printer is not working, check for error lights,display,paper,jams.

 

We need to know Model and Make of printer, what you are using to print, and how it's connected, to help you any further.
