You are using a device which works only with Win-Seven OS or higher. I've got the same problem with my optical mouse (without cable) .... Try to re-install your camera's driver in your pc... if this doesn't works... try to install your camera in a PC or Laptop with Win-Seven OS

HP Cybercam has no picture

Has it worked previously? If so, you may want to try a restore, or reload the drivers. If using windows 7, go to the device manager and uninstall the driver. At this point, restart your PC and windows 7 should automatically detect and reinstall the drivers for this device.

When i try turning on my Cyberlink YouCam on my laptop, i get this message "no video device is detected, pls plug a video device into your computer"

Check the Device Manager. See if the camera is on the list - if not, you'll need to re-install the driver or the camera itself is bad. Try connecting another camera with a USB connection - see if that works. If it does, then the built in camera is bad.

When i opened youcam it says no video device detected

If your software is good and the camera is in place and there have been no previous issues with it, then the most common problem for these disappearing is the failure of the small flat cable that sends the signal from the camera to the motherboard. It is like a 15 dollar item on ebay, usually does the trick.
