Question about Coby MP828 MP3 Player
I just think I should get more than 3 hours per charge. I'm just playing subliminal background music, nothing loud or intense, so why is it draining so fast and is there anything I can do to improve the length of time in between charges?
If you are stopping it, adjusting it (volume up and down), or shuffling through songs it will drain it quicker - setup playlist so you don't shuffle through music find a good volume and leave it there and if you need to pause the music just take out your headphones instead of pausing the unit

SOURCE: CAN'T HEAR MUSIC ON MP3 PLAYER
I had this problem and it is actually a two fold problem. If anyone comes here and finds this before tossing their player. It is the same for the older 256 mg Coby players as well.
The first problem I solved after much todo. Here is the problem. The players DO NOT recognize MP3 files for playing. Yes for real. Coby screwed up big time here. I can't find any way to reprogram the player to recognize mp3's for playing but it will store them fine. I can load all the wave and WMA files I want it runs fine but will not play any actual mp3's. I have XP media Pro platform and if you open media player, highlight the music file and convert it to a wma it will play. Do not be alarmed by the warnings about corrupting the files. save them in a different folder and your existing mp3's will still be there.
Now the second problem is not as easy to solve. Why? Licenses. If you do not have the license for a song ot the original cd with the license to copy songs from it it will load the song but will not play it. I found this out by loading songs one at a time and checking the properties of each . I there was no license, no works.
Here's how it goes. If you load an mp3 and it is mixed with wma or wav files when the player hits those songs it either stops flashing and playing or the light goes out and it may look as though the battery is dead. Restart and it runs to the same spot and stops.
Put the player in a usb then go to explore files. remove any mp3 files or wma that needs a license. one at a time. Yea it stinks and take forever, mine took 3 hours for 15 songs till I knew what to look for and how to do it. Yours should go faster. Pass this around or a lot of people are going toss alot of $$$ for nothing.
If these are your symptoms I bet this is the solution.
Hey COBY pass this on in a FAQS, I did all the work now make it happen forr those who bought these players
