Taking Longer than normal to Prepare PrintHeads

I have a Designjet 5500 60" and it is taking A LOT longer than normal to prepare the printheads before a printjob and almost all of the time I get the error code: 0c0040 0000005a and it tells me to switch the printer off then on.  After turning it on it notifies me that all of the printheads need to be replaced.  However all of them are fairly new.  What can I do to fix this?  Should I replace all of the printheads or could it be something else?

Remove the printheads and give them a wipe with a damp cloth, the ink sometimes dries on the head preventing it from registering as working

Hello. My HP Designjet 800ps says "too little ink to prepare the ink system". I want to know if there is something that i can do to erase this error.

It sounds like the printer has been set to initialize as if new and thinks that there is no ink in the tubes so it wants to do a full prime. Other than replacing the carts and letting it run I am not sure there is another way.

I have hp designjet 450c..the problem in printing.while printing it prints copy of the image also and not clear.i dnt know whts the problem..please help me..

That usually is caused by clogged or damaged printheads. There are 4 printheads, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. When you replace the printheads you need to calibrate the machine so the colors line up with one another.

I have a Designjet 5500ps Printer and it is leaking blue ink, when printing, all my research indicates that I need to replace the carriage tube connector, but I am unable to find the replacement part.

Hi there

May be you can try to contact any Authorised HP Service centre for your probelm. Could you give me your correct location so i can tell you whome to contact?

Alternatively you can try to see where the leakage is taking place and try to seal it with silicon sealent so it can atleast last untill someone attends to the probelm from HP.

The technical term for it is INK TUBE ASSY. But make sure and tell the HP people about the size of the plotter that is 42" or 60" and also keep the Product Number and Sl. No. of the machine handy which is required by HP technical team. (You can find it at the back of the plotter)

THE SCREEN OF MY HP DESIGNJET 500 DOESNT WORK

I would suggest taking out all the consumables. Printheads, media and cartridges. Unplug for upwards of 20 seconds before plugging it back in but leaving the consumables out.

Try turning on the plotter. If it appears working properly, load all consumables one by one, cartridges first, then printheads, then media. Attempt to print a test page if it works.

Or try a different outlet. Maybe the one your using has a problem and doesnt produce enough electricity.

Error 0c0030 00000088

That error indicates that the drop detector is not working. If a Print Quality test shows that the pens are working and nothing is blocking the inside of the drop detector, perform the Service Station calibration. If the error doesn't clear, then replace the detector assembly.

Printhead replacement

I don't just change the printheads, go to utilities and recover printheads.
If all printheads are playing up, che3ck the magenta cleaner, if it's over full it can cause all printheads to fail, this info was taken from a page on the HP web page, but ?I can't remeber where.
