Question about Panasonic VIERA Televison & Video

1 Answer

Power button blinks red seven times on a 2007 Panasonic flatscreen VIERA.

Is this a fixable problem? I hear a click and the program just starts to come on and then it clicks off and starts the blinking pattern; red blinking power light blinks 7 times, pauses and then resumes. It happened suddenly; was working fine last time it was on.

I had the same problem with my Viera. if you disconnect the power and ribbon cable from the YSUS board (check youtube for how), the light led will blink 6 times, indicating the YSUS is bad. Check ebay for TNPA5175 board (about $115-160). The "pop" is one of the DG402RP chips burnout. These are about $4, but only available from China. If you can wait a month for delivery, you can solder the new one to replace the bad one. You may want to purchase several in case more are bad or it happens again.

While I can't tell you what this particular code means I know from experience that power boards fail frequently commonly on those TVs. Do you hear a clicking of the power supply first on and then off after a few seconds?

There's a guy or a company on eBay that offers trade-in for faulty power supplys, you should check them out:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/TechFetch

Search for 37'' Philips in the title or contact them to ask about it. Used to be $99 flat including return shipping.
