Hi the error isnt one that corresponds to a scanner error number , you should run the scan validation tool and get the error from that , having said that check the image guides are clean and undamaged this is a major cause of faults

Ensure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your i1420: http://graphics.kodak.com/DocImaging/US/en/Support_Center/Document_Scanners/Departmental/i1420_Scanner/Support/Drivers_And_Downloads/i1400_Series_Scanner_Drivers/index.htm Looks like v3.09 is the most recent. If you are unsure of your version, download and install v3.09, if your drivers are out of date, the install will update your drivers. Test the scanner using the Scan Validation Tool (SVT). This program should be located in the Kodak folder in your start menu. SVT will test the scanner's functionality at a basic level alleviating all third party software variables. Please consult your owner's manual if you are unsure how to initiate a scan in SVT. Good afternoon. I need help. We have a KODAK i1420


If the software driver is loaded (it must be otherwise you will get e red light ) check the Image guides (the plastic window strips) check the whit reference on the underside of the guides is in place and in good condition

ISIS scan driver reports error, check scanner (20235)


An error occurred in the scanner driver.

dont worry...uninstall ur previous drivers and reinstall it again...u may download www.drivers.com of if u have installer cd. good luck

Check kds.log -this is my massage error when i press scan option at canner kodak i 260 "check KDS log" messge error appears when scan option chosen on i40 Kodak Scanner.


Try Calibration routine. If it fails check optics are clean and not scratched. If it still fails change the lamps.The KDS.log is encrypted and can only be accessed via a license key. This is only Available to Kodak reps or through RTS ltd service calls.

This sounds like a sensor issue, try cleaning the sensors, DO NOT use compressed air. Also try recalibrating the scanner. If all fails it may be a bad sensor, call kodak 800-822-1414 and they should be able to assist you.
