Four digit Bose 321 remote code?

  • david990 Jan 24, 2009

    The Thomson remote is URC60230R00-00
3RC16c-1124. There are no instructions for a manual search.
I do not have a Bose Advanced Remote so cannot use the Bose to control my PVR.

No AT&T or mode button. I have tried all the codes and they all are invalid.

I do not have an ADVANCED controller and I am not trying to program the Bose controller. My Bose controller is unable to be programmed.

Many thanks but the manual does not refer to my controller.

  • david990 Jan 24, 2009

    Thanks Jack,

The remote that comes with the Thomson PVR is capable of controlling the volume and mute of your TV. I would just like to be able to control the Bose volume and mute. Seems like the Bose code is a major secret:-)

If the 3 digit code is not known then an additional facility allows you to input a 4 digit manufacturer's code which then allows you to step through all codes held for that manufacturer until the correct code is identified.
The very newest TV receiver codes may not be stored in memory and it will not be until the next update of the remote's memory that these TV receivers can be controlled by the remote.

    4. Point the remote toward the device, and press . The remote automatically tests
each code in its library, beginning with the most common codes. The mode key
blinks once each time the remote transmits a new code. The mode key blinks twice
when it reaches the last code.
    5. As soon as the device powers off, press SELECT.

    NOW THAT YOUR REMOTE IS PROGRAMMED AND WORKING FOR YOUR DEVICE, You can find what code was actually use by following these steps;

    Finding the Code That Worked
    (Program Code 9 9 0)
    1. Press and hold SELECT and the appropriate mode key (CBL, TV, VCR, DVD, or
AUX) until all mode keys blink twice.
    2. Press 9 9 0. The mode key you selected in step 1 blinks twice.
    3. Press 1; then, count the number of times the mode key blinks. The number of blinks
indicates the first digit in the code. For example, 4 blinks indicates the first digit in
the code is 4. If the mode key does not blink, the digit is 0.
    4. Press 2; then, count the number of times the mode key blinks. This number indicates
the second number in the code.
    5. Press 3; then, count the number of times the mode key blinks. This number indicates
the third number in the code.
    6. Press 4; then, count the number of times the mode key blinks. This number indicates
the fourth number in the code.
Note: After all four numbers in the code are identified, all mode keys blink three
    times.
    7. Record the code in the space provided on the cover of this guide. You may need it
again if the device code is accidentally erased.

IF YOU TRIED THIS AUTOPROGRAMMING THAT I MENTIONED AND IT DOESN'T WORK THEN IT WILL NEVER WORK.
Auto programming bypasses manual code entry. If your remote cant find the codes, that you remote isn't made to work with that device.

Try this,
1. Release the volume controls and assign them to the AUX:
A. Press and hold AT&T Button and OK Button at the same time, release both buttons. All the mode keys will flash twice indicating you're in programming mode.
B. Enter 955 on the remote keypad, the AT&T key will flash twice indicating a correct entry
C. Press the mode key you want to alway receive the volume commands - I assigned mine to the AUX mode button. The mode key chosen will flash three times indicating success. Volume commands will now be delivered to the AUX button regardless of the mode you are in. 2. Assign the AUX to the BOSE system: A. Make sure the Boze remote receiver is powered on (green light is on). B. Press and hold the AUX Button and OK Button at the same time, release both Buttons. All the mode keys will flash twice indicating you're in programming mode. C. Enter the 4 digit BOSE code on the keypad, I used BOSE Remote Code 4000.
D. The AUX Button will flash three times indicating correct entry.

You may have to do a manual search for it. You didn't give the model number of remote your working with, but most all Thompson remotes have a manual search function.

Get this remote manual, and follow the instructions. The Thomson remote manual code entry process is pretty much the same for all their remotes.

I'm sorry to hear that your having trouble getting the code for your new remote purchase!

When I buy top of the line electronics with remotes I start to lose it when they don't work!

I recently bought a Digital Cable Box from my TV & Internet provider COMCAST then after wearing out the button for last channel viewed I started to lose it. I called COMCAST and told them what had happened and they said "Bring it in and we will give you a new one FREE!. I could hardly believe my ears but it was true!

I now believe that all universal remotes are not universal!

Why....because I believe that a simple remote can steal technology from any piece of electronics it gets the code from!

    My point is....

If you love your electronic and need a remote get one from the manufacturer!

    I HOPE this is helpful.

    Good Luck!

Dear FixYa Premium Guaranteed Answer Customer:

Yes, sadly I believe some high end MANUFACTURERS OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT KEEP THEIR CODES TOP SECRET!

If you believe your ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT is the best then I'd just scrape that UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL you just bought, go to YOUR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENTS' MANUFACTURERS' WEBSITE, and buy a new one directly from the Manufacturer!

I'd swallow my pride, accept the loss, and get down to getting down with my electronics! But that's just me!

    Hope this is helpful.

    Good Luck!

Can I use my BT youview remote to control my Bose solo,if so what is the code

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.
http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/
http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Search the site by type in the brand name of your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the Home page display" to see the set-up codes to your device, with different brand remote controls.
Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.

Need a remote for a Bose wave music system

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability.
Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.
Type in the "brand name only" of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.
