Question about Onkyo Tx-nr616 7.2 Thx Certified Network Receiver <<< Pre-order >>>
Was working fine only about 3 months old now when I click cbl/sat it doesn't say hdmi start up and so my tv doesn't play it just says no signal
Run an HDMI cable from TV direct to DVD or other HD source instead of going through Onkyo. If it works, you have a bad HDMI output on the Onkyo. If not you may have a bad cable or a bad port on TV. Then try a different HDMI input on TV.

This might somewhat help. Today I went back .. I went HDMI out of the Cable box and DVD player into 2 of the TVs HDMI ins. The digital audio out from each, straight to the receiver and things are working ok. All speakers are working OK. Sound isnt as loud or crisp but unfortunately I found no other solution.

Unfortunately only the higher end Onkyo Reciever pass audio over HDMI for sound. 605,705,805,905 exc. Your reciever will carry Video over HDMI but you will need a digital optical cable for sound.

Your receiver is HDMI version 1.1,1.2 or 1.2a and just don't work with anything to be honest with you. It's an HDCP (copyright Issue) and 5v pass thru issue. and the list goes on. If you can, just run HDMI directly to the TV and optical or Digital Coaxial to your receiver for audio and all will be well again. If you need more help, just post a comment and I will gladly help some more

SOURCE: Losing digital video signal
re seat the HDMI board and SOUND processor board from the back it's the board sitting on the left side in a vertical possition and has a wide ribbon cable connected to the main panel in the front. take the board out and the HDMI one has to come out first. it's sit's on top and connect's to this board and the MAin board underneat . good luck.
