The HDMI port for our plasma is not working. Have replaced the cables still no picture. TV keeps saying checking for signal. The S Video port works fine but no HD. Can you have the HDMI port replaced?

The HDMI input along with others is located on the a/v control panel of which would have to be replaced. I haven't seen an input jack yet with a part number attached for any model. I would suggest call a service center for a diagnosis.

It may be that your cable box is outputting at a resolution your TV doesn't recognise or doesn't support. Do you have any other connection you can use from your cable box to your TV to check the settings?

My tv wont connect thru hdmi any longer

If you have only been using one cable it may need to be replaced or the HDMI port on the television may be broken. Check the port and make sure it is clean and if it still dose not work speak with a local tv repair shop

Panasonic home theater

switch the HDMI cable to another HDMI port (if available).
or use and AVI/COMPONENT to make sure the device (HOME THEATHER) is working fine.
Try also another HDMI cable or hook another device into it to see how it works.
If you determine the HDMI port in not working properly, then your Mainboard is damaged and need to be replaced, try EBAY for a general picture of prices but you will need your product code wich is located in the back of the TV next to serial number.

White screen when tv turns on.

First check the wire cable your using, HDMI, AV, sure the wire cable is in good condition. Check your input/output ports, see if the tv does the same on different hook-up. For example if your getting this crazy image on HDMI, see if it happens also on Component. If so first be sure the input device such as your dvd player , cable box etc, are not defective. If your wire cables are good, and your dvd, cable box are all working properly and the tv still has this problem then its an internal problem with in the tv.

This could happen because of a component defect in the tv's interface circuit, XL/XR scan circuits, or faulty sustain circuit (primary board).

How old is your tv?

Can't get sound through my hdmi

Try the easisest route first - unplug and replug HDMI cable into same port or the other hdmi port on the TV. Also, make sure the Monster cable isn't HDMI 1.3 - I'm not sure the HDMI ports on this tv are fully compat with 1.3.

If that fails, go to, enter your model number, click on the verison of your model ending in /37, and click on "Software & Drivers"; click on the link that says "Firmware Upgrade - Software" - read the specs and see if it says anything about audio loss on HDMI - many Philips have issues with the HDMI ports - they are not broken, but just need a software fix. Instructions are on the same page - make sure you only transfer the .upg file, not the entire zip file to a portable memory stick.
Here are the notes I see:
Following problems are solved :
• Availability cablecard channel map.
• Improved info in the service menu.
• Improved picture quality and stability on HDMI.
• Installation of channels.
Following problem is solved :
• Issue related to intermittent video loss is solved.
