Starting Windows comes up that passes then all I get is a white mouse on a blank black screen for ever whats the deal?

Try restarting the computer and as soon as it begins to start up click on your " f8 " key repeatedly until a start menu comes up. Click on " safe mode" the computer will try to boot up to a simpler mode of windows. If this is successful you will get windows up with larger icons on a black background. Click on shut down / restart the computer will reboot to normal mode. This is often sufficient to resolve windows start up problems. If safe mode worked but the computer still does not fully start click on three keys at the same time " ctrl alt and delete" when you have the mouse only screen. This should bring up the " task manager" click on " run new task" and enter " explorer.exe" this should bring up your desktop

Sony vaio all in one touchscreen stopped working

XP and Vista Normal Mode Start your computer as you normally would. Click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Go to "C:\ Program Files\Sony\Setting Utility Series." Find and choose the "VCCPointingDevice" folder in the "Setting Utilities Series folder" to open the "Built-in Pointing Device" dialog box. Locate the "Enable" box on the "Built-in Pointing Device" dialog box. Check the box to enable the Vaio touchpad if you wish to use this device. Disable the touchpad if it is interfering with the external mouse. Uncheck the "Enable" box if you have a USB (PS/2) mouse connecting to your Vaio and wish to use that instead of the built-in touchpad. Pick "Yes, I'm Sure" when prompted to activate your choice, then close all the windows. Windows 7 Normal Mode Launch Windows as usual. Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Mouse" > "Pointing Device" to open the Vaio touchpad control center. Uncheck the "Enable" box on the "Pointing Device" window when you wish to use your external mouse. Check the "Enable" box on the "Pointing Device" window when you want to use the Sony Vaio touchpad. Make sure the external mouse is not interfering with the touchpad if you have one connected. If so, unplug the mouse from your computer. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the "Pointing Device" window. Close all other windows. XP and Vista Safe Mode Restart your computer. Press the F8 key before the Windows welcome screen appears to enter Safe Mode. Click "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Add/Remove Programs." Find and delete all software for mice and pointing devices. Restart your computer in normal Windows mode. Proceed to next step if the problem persists. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Right click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Choose "Properties" on the drop-down list. Pick the "Device Manager" tab in the Properties window. Select the "Other Devices" folder and click on the "+" sign besides it. Delete all the devices under this "+" sign by clicking on the "Remove" button next to each of the items. Restart Windows in Normal Mode. Once Windows is operating, there will be a "New Hardware Wizard" pop-up that will load all the necessary drivers for the touchpad, mouse and other pointing devices. This should fix the corrupt driver for your Vaio touchpad. Windows 7 Safe Mode Reboot your computer and press the F8 key before the Windows welcome screen appears to enter Safe Mode. Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Device Manager" > "Mice and other pointing devices." Click the touchpad icon. Choose the "Driver" tab and press the "Uninstall" button. TOUCH PAD NOT WORKING

The Sony Vaio laptop is typically sold with a touchpad device installed below the keyboard. The touchpad is for navigating the screen and is used like an external mouse. I got a dell latitude/d8oo out of warranty my mouse goes haywire can someone help me?

Either a virus or infection has hijacked your mouse or it needs to be replaced.

Try booting into safe mode and see if the mouse works.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If it works in safe mode, then turn the computer off and reboot again as if you are going into safe mode, but this time take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity). When it boots up open your internet browser then download and install MalwareBytes, then run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

If the problem still exists then purchase another keyboard on ebay based on the brand and model of your computer at:

Y my key board & mouse dont work wen i open my cpu

Make sure you have them in the correct ports in the back of the computer. If the end that goes into the back of the computer is round then you have PS2 serial type keyboard and mouse. If it is flat you have usb type mouse and keyboard. If it is round, the keyboard goes into the purple colored port and the mouse goes into the green port. If you put them in or remove them while the computer is on you will have to reboot the computer. They are not plug and play like the usb types.

If they still don't work try booting up in Safe Mode.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If the work in Safe Mode then you probably have a virus or infection that has hijacked the keyboard.

Take the steps above to reboot in Safe Mode, but this time when the safe mode options appear, select Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity). Open your internet browser when it finishes booting up and download and install MalwareBytes.

I can only connect to the internet in safe mode

You didn’t provide a lot of information here, but based on what you are saying, the computer starts up and works in safe mode only and when you try to start it is normal mode it fails. Knowing what happens when *** fails might be really helpful, but that’s okay.

It sounds like a driver issue. One of the drivers has gone bad (become corrupted) and when it tries to load, it fails and brings the whole system down. The trick is to find which one is failing. This is typically listed on the “blue screen of death” when the failure occurs.

The biggest cause of these kinds of failures is the video driver. To fix this start the computer in safe mode and remove the old driver. To do this go into the device manager (right click the My Computer icon and click Manage and then click on the Device Manager link). Click the plus next to the Display adapter properties and remove the old driver.

Obtain a new driver and install it.

See if the system boots.

If you could get me more information on the failure type and what happens, I might be able to lock down a better solution.
