There's a number of lubricants that should alleviate your pain to open the stands with ease and certainly you should use one.

CRACKLING SOUND ALSO CUTTING OUT AND IN

This sounds like another case of bad connections or soldering in the amp. If it's not too old take it back to your dealer, they should fix it. These are designed (allegedly) to be used and moved about and should not fail. If it is too old then open it up and with care - and with yourself isolated from earth and wearing insulating gloves wobble connections and components until you find the cause. We have had a couple of this sort of fault with newer mackie stuff and it's not been too hard to track down and fix if you're handy with a soldering iron.

If you have any doubts about being competent to do this sort of thing take it to someone who knows what they are doing, it should be a fairly quick fix.

AKG Q460 headphones

Hello,
Those earphones, as many others suffer the same damage and it's the signal cable at one of the ends, either the 1/8 jack that goes to the audio source and/or the other end, that goes to the ear speaker piece, not necessarily should be disconnected, but it's a common fail for this tinny wires to open internally just very close at ends, because the main strssed part of this cables is precisely there, hope it helps...

My Mackie Thump TH-15A will not produce any bass. I can get some sound but only from the top tweeter. Whats wrong and how can i fix this?

Could be the crossover has died or the main speaker winding has failed. Open her up and connect on side of the main speaker direct to a 9v battery and then wipe the other wire over the other terminal. If you get a crackling from the speaker then it's likely the crossover, if there is no response at all from the speaker then it is dead and possibly the crossover too.

Does any one make a carry bag or soft case for transporting the ProLine PL-400. The stand measures around 54" x 16" x (7-8)". I would like to have a case that I can use when I go to a hotel...

I have never seen a carrying case for these offered anyplace... they can be a pain to handle. You MIGHT try to get someone to make a heavy duty cardboard box to carry it in. These are a heavy duty stand... making almost any hard case would triple the weight. They custom make cases for mixers but that type would weigh about 50 pounds for the case alone. If I were making one, I would do it something like the mic/speaker stand cases are with a zipper down the opening. Maybe use canvas... but DO use a heavy zipper... getting the "ears" in and out of a duffle bag would certainly be frustrating to the max.

How do I fix the plastic jack inside the speaker? It seems loose, yet it connects fine, but still doesn't work. The wiring is fine.

Open the speaker and either secure the jack or replace it if it is broken... common problem when cables get tripped over.

I have a Roland FP 1 digital piano, serial #AL21141N. It has gradually quit putting out sound through the speakers. At the onset of the problem, I could fit it by jiggling the 1/4" speaker plugs,...

I first would suspect the switches on the eadphone jack. Normally these cut off the speakers when headphones are plugged in. These jacks and the switches are really weak, poorly made, and easily broken, especially if headphone cord gets yanked.

Proline Piano Keyboard Stand Assembly Hi, I just bought a Proline piano stand for an electronic keyboard, and the first step on the assembly directions is to move the clutch to the middle position....

Normally on my stand like this you PULL the knob outward (not turn it) to disengage the pin from the plate with the holes in it... Works quite well and the stand is moree stable than many.
