SOURCE: Ice build up bottom of freezer and water on floor GE Monogram

I had the same problem. The drain tube is located below the pan below the fins at the rear of your freezer. The drain tube has a trap (s-shaped curve) to prevent air flow out of the freezer. The problem is that water gets in this tube and freezes. I took the sheet metal cover off the back, got a turkey baster and flexible tube, and continuously flushed hot water (after the freezer had been turned off around an hour to thaw). Eventually the plug gave way.

SOURCE: how do you remove the back panel of a PSC23NSTSS

Behind that cardboard there will be a drain exit that fill a pan that the fan blows over. But the correct way would be through the entrance and that is found inside the rear wall of freezer. Let me see if I can find some illustrations. Sea Breeze

Pfss6pkw drain plugged

Unplug your refrigerator and remove items and shelves from the fresh food section. Not sure about what nutdriver so try a 1/4 inch nutdriver first and remove the screws holding panel number 98 in this photo HERE The beginning of the drain hole for the fresh food section is below the evaporator and in the center bottom of location number 96 in that same photo HERE For the freezer drain it will be behind panel 47 in this photo HERE You will only need the to remove the fresh food section panel ocation 98 and the freezer panel location 47 to clean these two drains. I have a video from You-Tube that shows where to clean out but his refrigerator had the drain visible without removel of these two panels. In most cases the drain cannot be seen without removal of the panels. I am here should you have questions Thanks Sea Breeze

PTC22MFM - need to unclog defrost drain?

Normally, this is a job for an appliance service company. However, turn off the refrigerator and remove the rear freezer panel. Once removed you should see a drain hole. Apparently, water does not drain properly. Use an extended coat hanger, etc. to place down into the drain hole with "up and down motions". Periodically, pour a small amount of water into the drain hole until it appears to be unclogged. Then follow up with some hot water and liquid bleach (perhaps a cup full). This should kill any algae, etc. and remove any other foreign objects from the drain line. If you pour too much liquid into the drain hole you may get an overflow at the bottom of the refrigerator (there is a small drain pan underneath the appliance that catches the water during the defrost cycle. Yet, the water collected in the drain pan, during the defrost cycle, typically evaporates and you should never have to regularly empty the drain pan. Good luck!

Leaking water from freezer side-by-side GE refrigerator

Hi, It sounds like the defrost drain is plugged. You will need to remove the rear inside panel in the freezer and unp,ug the drain. Once you remove the rear panel, you should see a collestion of ice under the evaporator coil. Locate the drain hole and clear the ice. Flush the drain hole out with hot water to make sure it will drain. You might have to run a wire through the drain or you can flush water through it with a baesting serienge.

I hope this helsp you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

GE side by side refrigerator-1994

Check your drain pan for water. If you see none than you have a clogged drain line in the freezer.Remove the back wall lower screws and any screws that will prevent you from getting the back freezer panel off,NOTE : this is in the freezer located on the back wall. You will see the drain behind this panel , if its clogged ,un clog it.
