Question about Lite On LVW-5005X DVD Recorder
I own lite-on lvw 5005xa It was working fine till one day my remote stopped working and my tv and timer recording setup would reset when power turns off. So when I turn the recorder on I have to auto scan all channels again. If I sont turn off the unit the tuner is fine. But I cannot time record without the power off. I tried to update the firmware from liteonit website. but the cd reads and displays data disc and ejects. No change in any firmware takes place. Can any one help me Like what can be done.
You have the wrong firmware,or cd is corrupted. These Liteon recorders have had some issues with the timers. The 5005xa can actually be transformed into the Ilo R04.Look on internet the Wizard has free firmware for your unit, look for iLO R04 which is almost identical to your unit.
If the remote is broke they are easy to replace ,if the recorder is a 5005xa the remote is a clone to ones used in the iLO RO4,used ones can be bought on Ebay for $10 to $20.If it is 5005XSA use the Liteon Rm 51 remote. The Gateway AR 230 recorder and some of the Akai remotes are clones to the Liteon5005XSA remotes.
