Question about Dell Dimension C521 PC Desktop
My computer is a Dell Dimension c521 and when I turn it on, it says no signal on the moitor. I've change the video card and the cord as well.
If you have a known-good video card and a known-good VGA cable connected, another possibility is that the monitor is defective

Be careful with this computer. The cooling system works by blowing air INTO the machine over the cpu then the heat slowly comes out of the holes on the side panel (on the left side of the machine). One reason the text may be blurry is because the video card is heating up too much. This problem is specific to this machine. Most computers have the cooling fan blowing the heat out of the case and not sucking air into the case. On the plus side at least this PC is near silent right? I would know since I own this machine. Amazingly silent it is.

This means that you have an external video card (which is not outside the computer). This video card will be plugged into the motherboard. That message is saying that the port on the back of the computer that your monitor is plugged into is the wrong one. You need to look for another port on the back of the computer.
Here is a picture of a VGA port that you should use if you have a VGA cable to connect the monitor (Blue Ends).
Here is a picture of a DVI port that you should use if you have a DVI cable to connect the monitor (White Ends).
So depending on the cable and connections that are available on your computer and your monitor depends on what you have to use. I hope that wasn't too confusing. Let me know if you need more info.
