Bose 321-GSX. Hello Everyone I have a bose 321 system and it is not reading any disc. I even tried the bose demonstration disk, but unsuccessful. I even unplugged the unit for 60 secs as per the manufacturer, but it did not work. I even used the lens cleaner for dvd players. Please help me how to get this problem fixed. Cheers Ryan

Adelina, I recently purchased this unit. After having four units lock up, I finaly got one that seems to be working fine. If you still have warrenty remaining, I suggest returning the unit to Bose as they are apperently having signifigant issues whit this product line. Unfortunatly you may be without a unit for a while.

Not familiar with unit, but you can try a couple of things. Have you tried to play DVD's and CD's? If they both don't work you may have a laser problem. You can also hook up an external DVD/CD player to the coax and/or optical inputs and see if that will work. If this does, than you can still use the unit with an external source component. If that doesn't work you may need a new unit.

I have a friend with a 321 system. He says it

Unfortunatley no, its not software that reads dual layer discs, its hardware. I sold Bose for 2 years and do not know of any Bose items that will read dual-alyer discs. Dr. Bose has a hard time keeping up with technology sometimes. Other than that, the 321 is a great system!

I put in a dvd and i get format not supported?bose 321 gsx system

-If this happens on all DVDs, then this may need to be repaired (Bose will repair this for free if this is the case- they can test it too) -If this happens on some or most DVDs, you can try a firmware update. Call Bose at 800-367-4008 and tell them about this. Request the most recent software/firmware update disc.
If you haven't already, just try resetting this first. (unplug the power cord from the acoustimass module for about 30+ seconds and try again)
If this happens primarily on rentals or home-made dvds, an update will most likely fix the problem.

Bose 321 system reads bad disc on all dvds

if will not read a laser lens cleaning disc , then it will need to be opened up and the laser lens will need to be cleaned manually with the cleaning solution and a cotton tip , but do it easy and dry the lens with the cotton tip
if that don't do it then the laser mechanism will need replacing

its the format of the DVD as its written.
Nothing you can do but to have the DVD re-authored.
We had this problem with out wedding video. It runs fine on my computer but not in the Bose. We asked the videographer to reauthor the DVD explaining the problem and it works now.

Format unsupported

Format unsupported simply means the unit can not read the disc. The problem is either the disc or the player.

Contact Bose technical support if you are sure the discs are good. 800-367-4008
