Hi
Have you access to another monitor, if so try that.
Has your monitor any lights on?
If it has an orange one only, then the video input from the computer is not working.
Try re-seating the video card if it's a separate one (Power off and plug out)
Good luck

Display are not showing cleanless

Try connecting an external monitor to the computer and see if it displays better. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your video card inside the computer is good, but your lcd screen is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same way with problems, then your video card inside the computer is bad.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If the video shows on the external monitor that proves your video card is ok, ,but your lcd screen is bad. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

No video

Not sure whether you have a laptop or desktop but your issue is either the lcd screen or the video card. To isolate the problem try plugging another monitor to the system. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original screen is bad and the video card is good. If the Borrowed monitor does not display anything, then the video card inside the computer is bad.

If Laptop try the steps below:

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok.

MY COMPUTER STARTS WHEN YOU PUSH THE POWER BOTTOM BUT NO BEEP SOUND ON POST AND DOES NOT DISPLAY ANY ERROR MESSAGE ON THE SRCREEN. I HAD WANTED TO BOOT IT FROM THE CD ROM AND FORMAT BUT I AM STACK.PLEASE...

Looks like you have no communication between your system unit and your monitor.

First you have to check the cable and see if it is firmly connected to the system unit and also the monitor

Next you check to see if your monitor is functioning ok, that is, power comes through

If the two above are ok, then you might have a problem with your RAM, CMOS or CPU.

If you can't do the technical job yourself then bring it for service

My Dell dimension 2400 monitor doesn't work when connected to my tower. It appears that it's off when I connect it to the Dell Dimension 2400 tower, but when I connect the same monitor to another computer,...

Hi! For dell machines when u unplug the video cable/VGA from the tower while the system is on it will show monitor self test.If you are seeing a black box moving around the screen it means that monitor is ok.Check connection between monitor and tower.Make sure cables are securely plugged in.Check if the tower is ok. There is a possibility that your monitor is ok but the tower is not.check the power button (whats the color) if amber/orange, this means there is something wrong the the tower. If its blue or white it means its ok.Also check if you are going to hear one beep, it means system is booting up properly. If tower is ok and you are using a expansion video card then try to use internal one, normally its the vga port above the usbs.If you are going to use onboard video card make sure you enable it first in bios.If all things fail, contact your manufacturer, if the system is under warranty then they will send a tech to check the machine.hope this helps...

When turn on monitor says video cannot be displayed

Check to see if the Video cable is properly connected to the system. Remove and connect it properly and tighten the two screws properly. Also confirm that there are no abnormal beeps when you power on the system. If there are beeps confirm that the RAM is ok. The system should come on if these things are ok.

Few minitues later after i starting my ibm thinkpad t60 laptop i can not see anything on it display monitor. but operating system and all others things are ok. just i can not able to see display on it...

Ok seems like an issue with the LCD screen . Try these steps :
1. do u hear the windows login sound when you turn on the system ?
2. Check for any lblinking lights on the system. Press the caps lock and num lock and check if it responds.
3. Do u have a Desktop at home ? if yes then you can connect the monitor to the system and check for the display.
4. check for any cracks or any kind of damages. Reseat the battery and then power oN . Check for the light on the AC adapter too.

IF the answer is YES for the above then its a issue with the LCD screen.

I see a black screen when I turn thw computer on

The first thing to do is to check the lead from the monitor to the computer is correctly plugged in at both ends.
If this is OK then perhaps you try another monitor, if an other monitor works OK then yours may be broken.
If another monitor does not work then you will need to check your computer hardware and software.

When you turn it on, you will see a picture for about 1 second, then it goes blank

try self test on the screen to do that unplug the blue cable from the tower and turn on the monitor and if you could see 3 or 4 bars then the monitor is ok if not then you need to replace the monitor if it passes the self test then try to boot in bios and see if it comes on if yes then its your windows issue try system restore
