FSC Amilo Xi 2550: JMircon RAID controller and Intel Turbo Memory

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xi 2550 laptop, which is equipped with two hard drives on a JMicron SATA RAID controller and a 1GB Intel Turbo Memory module. Because of this configuration I can use only 512 MB of my ITM, namely the ReadyBoost part and I can't enable the ReadyDrive feature. According to Intel and the FSC Tech Support this can't be enabled on my machine, because the system drive should be attached to the Intel IDE controller. My question is: how can I replug my system drive to the Intel IDE controller instead of the JMicron? I tried to search for a mainboard diagram of the laptop without any success. Thank you very much in advance for your help!

I would like to add there's no option to disable the RAID controller in the BIOS (and personally I don't think it's a good idea, since my HDDs are attached to it). Uninstalling the RAID drivers also doesn't work, because Vista relies on them - without them my system won't recognize the HDDs and won't start at all.
Just to clarify: on the Intel IDE controller only my DVD burner is attached, the second SATA port is free, but I don't know where is it located physically on the mainboard of my laptop. The two hard disks are attached to the RAID controller and because of that I cannot use half of the capacity of the Intel Turbo Memory - namely the ReadyDrive part.

Another thing: this is a laptop. According to SiSoftware Sandra the mainboard is a Fujitsu-Siemens F44. And that's my problem - I can't find any information on the Internet about this mainboard relevant to my problem.

There's no option to disable the RAID controller in the RAID controller BIOS, although the HDDs are set to non-RAID. Vista still requires the drivers. The ONLY solution is to replug my system drive to the free SATA port of the Intel controller. The question is: where is that port on the mainboard?

To avoid further BIOS settings suggestions, here are the screenshots of the BIOSes of my laptop, also a picture of the mainboard:http://sityisxt.photoshop.com/

Ginko, you can see my current configuration on the phtots and all I can adjust in the BIOS. Where can I do what you have written, because I can't find it?

The raid, you can change and disable the raid in bios, no it wont disable the raid controller and the drives will still work, they just wont be on the raid setup. You may also have to look into raid bios some computers have it separate from the main bios..

You haven't provided me with the make and model of your motherboard, but I can answer the question with some certainty. It is a IDE and/or SATA controller. Intel has dropped support for IDE controller in all of their newer chipset (if I remember correctly from the P965 up), so motherboard manufacturers have had to add third party controllers to provide support for IDE drives. Most of these controller actually provide support for both types (SATA/IDE). Usually the SATA ports supplied by the third party controllers are colored differently from the Intel controllers. Hope that answers your question.
If you need more specific information, provide you motherboard make and model.

You do not plug or unplug anything, you have to go to the BIOS, and disable the RAID system from BIOS settings.

Try Revert HDD to non Raid.

If it does not work, try delete RAID, and do an hard disk auto detection afterward.

Remember to save settings before exiting.

The settings are in RAID bios

Use "Revert HDD to non Raid." from menu at the left.

If it does not work, try delete RAID, and do an hard disk auto detection afterward.

Remember to save settings before exiting.

first start by downgrading to windows xp,then only upgrade you ram to 1gb then go to control panel and uninstall all the unnessacary files.

windows vista is generally a very slow program because it uses alot of space,xp is going to improve your speed and also dont load office 2007,rather load office 2003 its smaller and faster.

HI I have a fujitsu siemens amilo, when I turn it on it is saying Operating system not found, what does this and how do I fix it please? email please asap many thanks

you have either a bad hard drive or an incorrect bios setting. look at the bios and see if it is pata or sata. if you have either set incorrectly it will cause this, if not here then most likley a bad hard drive partition. you could try reloding the os.
