Re: A message appears saying "no disc" and DVD are not...

If this unit has a built in DVD player, then the player's lens may need cleaning. There are lens cleaning discs available for this. If the unit does not have a built in player, then the same applies to your player & there is no problem with the projector itself.

I had this problem once. I sent it in and they had to update the firmware. I don't recall that they did anything else, but, am not certain. I would start with that.

The movie freezes

if the bottom of the dvd is scratched it can cause this issue, if it's not scratched there may be a defect in the way the dvd was written. If you are playing from a file on your computer that has been downloaded, it may be partially corrupt, or the player has old codecs. Try using a different player like VLC on your computer, or use a CD/DVD cleaning kit, and a DVD player cleaning disc.

DV10 optoma movie time is suddenly not recognizing DVD disks. It has been working fine for nearly two years. The projector works fine when connected to the TV box. The disk player spins but will not read...

there are dvd cleaning disks that work ok. you can get them at best buy or radio shack. they'll just lightly brush the dust off of the lens on the optical pickup. if the unit is is humid conditions, you'll need to use a lint free microfiber lens cloth and gently brush the dirt off of the lens. if there is stuff stuck to it, you'll need denatured alcohol with a scratch free fiber swab to wash off the lens (don't use a lot of alcohol). blow it dry and test it out.

Powers on, but automatically goes to default screen only

the input board may be kaput, sounds like its not recognizing the ports. If its still under warranty, i would be in touch with infocus immediately. this def. sounds like hardware failure. Sorry if this doesnt help much!

Pixelated screen on sanyo plvz2

Hi focushere

This could only be one of two things - either the cable that will need replacement or the Mainboard of the Projector.

Try using a different cable first , in other words a new DVI cable.

If this doesn't fix the problem ( which I'm sure is going to ) you will have to get the Mainboard repaired at a Service Provider.

Epson Powerlite 1815p screen projector - DVD playback video jerkiness when there is motion in the video

I am assuming that the DVD plays normally on the display of the Dell 745.

Then the issue(s) may be with the:
1. Networking configuration/set-up of the Dell and/or the Epson;
2. ethernet cable;
3. configuration/set-up of the projector or the Epson itself.

A couple of things you can try:
1. Optimize your networking throughput.
1.1 Increase your PCI Latency Timer to 128 or 255 in the Dell's BIOS/CMOS setup (if present);
1.2 Try running DRTCP.exe and/or TCPOptimizer.exe appropriate to the Dell's OS;
1.3 Disable all other networking activities on the Dell. This may include auto updates, security/antivirus checks, etc. while running the DVD;
1.4 Slim down Dell's startup programs to bare minimum;
1.5 Increase your OS' swap file to roughly double your onboard memory
2. Try running a hub midway between the Dell and the Epson.
3. Verify that it is not the Epson that is problematic by playing a video source to the projector’s Video or S-Video port. If it is, then you have narrowed down the problem to the playing capability of the Epson.

Alternately if all else fails, perhaps you can try using:
1. a DVD player to the projector’s Video or S-Video port; and/or
2. a USB external DVD drive or a CompactFlash card (with a copy of the movie) direct to the 1815p
while settling the main issue.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Media player movie picture won't display

Yes, I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop. I have never been able to show videos using two seemingly compatible devices. This is not a projector issue however, as my projector displays video DVD fine from this PC, only videos inserted into PowerPoint will not play. Using another computer it works fine. Imagine that, Dell selling two highly practical devices that are not compatible.
