Hi DeezKelb, The continous beeps you are hearing is the Award bios telling you the memory is not seated correctly. Please remove the memory & re-seat the two DIMMS.
See Award bios beep codes, click on this link.
If the beeping continues. Either boot into the bios & reset from there or reset the bios by moving cmos/bios jumper page 1-16 in you're user manual to clear/reset the bios. (Remember to set the jumper back to default). Boot the PC & enter bios to setup you're prefered settings.
If you're board still continues to beep download a free program called Memest86 & run the software which will test you're memory. http://www.memtest.org/
Scroll down the page till you are under the three Screenshots. Listed there is ** Memtest86+ V2.01 (21/02/2008) ** typed in red.
You have a choice of downloading software to creat either a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD disk.
Bootable floppy; Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)
Bootable CD; Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)
You're Asus board can only run up to 2GB Max memory.
Main download web site for ASUS P4V8X-X.
