Question about Executive Software Diskeeper 9 Server Standard Edition for PC
This is likely due to a permissions issue where the drive we are attempting to defragment does not have System and Administrators credentials listed with FULL CONTROL.
To repair this, you may employ the command below to apply those permissions to the volume from the root on down.
1. Bring up a DOS prompt by clicking Start -> Run and typing the CMD command. 2. Go to the root of the drive we are having difficulty with 3. Type CACLS * /e /t /c /g Administrators:F System:F 4. Press ENTER and this command should start to go through each of the files on that volume.
Note: This same command is also used in the SetDKACLS.bat command file and is found in the directory folder where Diskeeper is installed. Example: C:Program FilesDiskeeper CorporationDiskeeper
After this has completed and the file security permissions have been added, you should find that Diskeeper will handle the volume properly.
