This is likely due to a permissions issue where the drive we are attempting to defragment does not have System and Administrators credentials listed with FULL CONTROL.

To repair this, you may employ the command below to apply those permissions to the volume from the root on down.

1. Bring up a DOS prompt by clicking Start -> Run and typing the CMD command. 2. Go to the root of the drive we are having difficulty with 3. Type CACLS * /e /t /c /g Administrators:F System:F 4. Press ENTER and this command should start to go through each of the files on that volume.

Note: This same command is also used in the SetDKACLS.bat command file and is found in the directory folder where Diskeeper is installed. Example: C:Program FilesDiskeeper CorporationDiskeeper

After this has completed and the file security permissions have been added, you should find that Diskeeper will handle the volume properly.

Computer loads very slow especailly

The more programs and software you put onto a computer, the slower it can become.
However, the first thing to do is defragment your hard drive. Start your computer, open 'My computer' and right click on the C drive icon. From the tabs choose TOOLS and then defragment .. The time taken to defragment depends on the size of your hard drive.
Then go to the control panel and look for Install/Uninstall programs. If there's anything you can live without, uninstall it.
Restart your computer. If things are still slow (and you are confident you have plenty of RAM - memory) installed, suspect a failing hard drive.

If your Windows XP or Vista is getting slow, a wise thing to do is to defragment your hard drives!defragment

There are many programs but one of the best is Auslogics Disk defragmenter. Just download the defragmenter, install it and run defragment. It should take approximately 1 hour and it says how much faster your computer went (for example 30%).
When the program has completed defragmenting you should immediately feel the difference (if the percent was over 30). Your computer should now be much faster than it used to be. Programs start …

I have windows 7 and when i go into defragment my drives. in the drive options where i have my 2T goflex portable hard drive, my computer says to never defragment. so my question is, can i really not...

There are manufacturer specific defrag programs. Also SSD have a limited number of R/W cycles and when they fail, there is NO warning. A defrag is a very intensive R/W process. You don't want to waste cycles on something that fast.

How to defragment my computer focomputer efficiency

Click on start, then computer (or just My Computer from the desktop). Right click on the C: drive and then click on the tools tab. You will see defragment listed there. Click on it. Please make sure you have your screen saver disabled and are not running any other items while you defrag. If you are the defrag will fail.Alternatively you can download smart defrag 2. Just do a search for it on the internet and you should find the download. This is a much more stable and effective program than the windows defrager.
Good luck and I hope this helps

Error code 0f00:1332

The drive or usb hub seems to have failed.
First try upgrading your mainboards BIOS. Usually solves software issues. If that doesn't solve the problem replace your drive and try again.
If you still get the same error, the drive controller is probably what has failed. In that case you have to replace your mainboard.

This article might help.

Defragment does not work

This problem can be tacked in a few ways. But I cannot guarantee that it can solve the problem. So please do try out all the alternatives shown below one at a time.

  • Go to Start and then Run, type regsvr32 msxml3.dll and run it, or
  • Start --> Run, regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll and start - Run, regsvr32 dfrgui.dll and then click on OK, or
  • Go to Start - Run and then type sfc /scannow. (If it asks for the installation CD, insert it) or
  • Install the latest MMC 3.0 (Available at Microsoft site) or
  • Browse to C:\Windows\Inf (Assuming C drive is your OS drive), right click dfrg.inf file and click on Install.
If the above does not solve your problem still, then try renaming the dfrg.msc file to something else and place the shortcut in your start menu.

If everything fails, it can only be a registry or a .MSC association problem...
