SOURCE: I just bought an Ibanez

Hi projectsa996,
Hum in the sound is commonly cause of the following :
1. Bad filter electrolytic capacitor - this is the most common caused of hum in sound. Dried/leaky electrolytic capacitor will produce an out-of-regulation condition. Sometimes it has a bulged/dome at the top but not all, you must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition. Affected section is the power supply section,pre-amplifier sectiona and/or the sound output circuitry.
2. Bad solder joints (crack/dried/cold) - bad solder joints in the filter electrolytic capacitor, output IC, pre-amplifier stage, will produce hum in sound. You must work in the brightest area or used table lalmp/portable lamp and magnifying glass because this is hard to spot.
3. Improper grounding - faulty input cables will produce hum also.Swap another cables to confirm that this is not the caused of the problem.Bad solder joints in the input jack will do the same symtoms.
If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the symptoms.
Also check if your unit is under warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free, don't attempt to open the cover because it will void the warranty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

The input cable MUST be a TS (unbalanced cable) to turn the unit on. The sleeve of the input cable is what connects the battery. If you use a TRS cable at the input it likely will not turn on. A TRS cable has a tip, ring AND sleeve like many 1/4 inch stereo cables.

What kind of switching options do you want? there are many ways to skin a cat but there are more ways than that to wire a guitar..
Visit the ibanez website for wiring diagrams if it is something simple you want. for more customised switching options, you should contact the pickup brand's customer care...for example, when i bought Dimarzios for my Ibanez,i emailed dimarzio and they replied within 24 hours with a pic of the correct wiring.

I have an Ibanez TSA15H amp that keeps blowing the F6 fuse. the fuse is a 500mA, but Ibanez told me to change it to a 100mA fuse and that would solve the problem. i did this, and it still blows. also...

This appears to be a common problem with this amp. Putting a smaller fuse will only cause it to blow easier...not sure what Ibanez techs were thinking. Mine blows with 500mA fuse...usually because failing to let it warm up the 30 seconds with standby switch off. I have used .75A-250V fuse and it eliminates the problem. Note: it also defeats the purpose of the fuse and leaves the circuit unprotected....voids warranty/fire risk/ shock risk/world will end, etc. I don't recommend using higher rated fuses but it appears that portion of the circuit draws more than the 1/2 amp fuse can handle.

I've had the Ts808 for a good year now until today when i plugged it in it wasn't giving any output? The LED still comes on and it isn't the lead and its got me puzzled, any help would be greatly...

LED's comes on EVEN with a mostly dead battery or power adapter. The electronics quit at much higher voltage than the LED indicator so a failing battery is usual cause of bad audio in these pedals..

This is known as self-rectification and can occur if the thing is near a strong radio transmitter.

You should check ALL your audio cables have good grounds. A broken shield on a cable can let in the radio signal which if strong enough can rectify (detect) and recover audio from an AM broadcast station. Note that some aircraft radios are also AM, You can also receive SSB type signals, however you will not get intelligible sounds.

High pitched noise from amp

Theonly user serviceable thing for you to check is the batteries OR power supply. If that were low, that could cause the problem.
