It is the second time in a year (actually alomost exactly a year aprt) that my car battery drains dead in cold weather.
Car wont start, motor will not even turn.
The battery was not drained by trying to start car but by some defect.
Vehicle Integrated voltmeter displayed: 7 volts.
I have the same problem, my new battery went dead in the extremely cold weather and won't even turn. I have now tried to charge it but only for a few minutes and the lights have worked when the recharger is on but nothing else so far. I am going to try recharge it longer tomorrow or a family member will.
Could be both batteries went bad.
1) I would take battery back to where you bought it and have them test.
2) Check, or have someone check, that battery power is not being used when the key is off and the car is not being used in any way. There will be a slight trickle of power use, but nothing that would wear the battery down in less than 3-4 weeks.
