Acess bios setup

To access the bios setup: when the machine first boots up, you'll hear a beep, once you hear that beep, i believe you need to hit F12, or Del keys repeatedly until Bios comes up. Sometimes, on the Logo screen it will say what to hit to enter bios setup, look in the corners of the logo screen.

Thanks Mark

Without a bios update and updated operating system the ram may not work properly. Also the memory itself may be faulty.Verification of compatibility doesn't really guarantee the ram will actually work properly when seated. You should have used 2 pc2100 ram sticks.

Bios password locked im my toshiba 1415,S173 ,how can I resolve

To prevent a thief from using your computer, the only way to "reset" the password on a "notebook" computer is to find your original sales-receipt, and to telephone Toshiba, and get them to help you.

Boot via LAN

The wake up on LAN is usually setup from the BIOS configuration.
If you BIOS doesn't have this option then it is not possible.

For this issue I have had myself. First and foremost the best solution is to flash the notebook, clear EVERYTHING out, most tech. support locations are able to this, with no problem, OR you may also try, f you can get into the BIOS, there should be an option to "Load Defaults". Choose that and then "Save and Exit". If you cannot get into the BIOS because you do not know the password, look for a jumper on the motherboard marked "Pass", "PWD", "BIOS", etc. Typically you should move the jumper over one pin, or it may have just two pins, and they need a shorting jumper on them. Do that for a few seconds, and replace it as you found it. That should clear the password, and perhaps all other non-default settings, as well.
Let me know how it goes,
Thanks,
Justin...
