I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP only to find that my Transcend Jetflash 210 2GB no longer works. Any way I can get it working again?

I tried the registry setting and rebooted but that did not solve it. What is not showing up is the driver that asks for the fingerprint. There was a suggestion to install the driver, I would love to do that but have searched extensively and cannot find it. Does the original poster of that comment have a download link?

Click Start, then Run Enter regedt32.exe and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Usb f a USB key doesn't exist, create one and create a new DWORD value called DisableSelectiveSuspend and make its value 1. Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

If now you can see your usb drive there might not be any need to do the following

Click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes

automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start

you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

I found that you get best results by ticking one box then returning after it has finished then tick the other box

then you might have restore it to its default status

Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options

My computer which runs Windows 7 can not detect my Jetflash 500 16gb flashdrive

It should be able to automatically detect and install it. Try using it on another computer that has either Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 on it. If it doesn't automatically detect and install it on that one then the flashdrive is dead.

Download copy JFSW.exe for JetFlash elite

Hi,
Driver Installation – Windows® Me, 2000, XP and Vista
No drivers are required. Newer Windows operating systems have built-in drivers that support the JetFlash®. Simply plug your JetFlash® into an available USB port and Windows will automatically install the files needed to use your device. A “Removable Disk” with a newly assigned drive letter will appear in the My Computer window.

JFSW.exe is the older version. You might want to try JetFlash Elite v2.0, a newer more advanced version of JetFlash elite - highly recommended:

I think you know about this page, but here's a link to save you googling:
