How do I clean the filter on the Novotronic W 310 Miele washing machine

Cleaning the fluff filter and pump
Check the fluff filter initially after 3 - 4 washes to ascertain how often it is likely to require cleaning. With normal cleaning approx. 2 litres of water run out.

If the drain outlet is clogged, more water will be retained in the machine (up to 25 litres).

Caution: if laundry has been washed at a high temperature,
water draining out of the machine will still be hot!

Take the (yellow) filter flap opener from behind the detergent drawer facia panel. Open the flap.

Place a dish under the drain fixture. Turn the fluff filter lid round 2 - 3
times. Do not take it right out.

With large volumes of water when the dish is full, screw the fluff filter back into position and empty the dish before repeating the procedure.

Once the flow of water ceases, remove the fluff filter completely and
clean it.
Remove any foreign bodies (e.g. buttons, coins, etc.) and fluff.
Turn the impeller by hand to check that it is free to rotate. Any foreign objects causing an obstruction should be removed.

Clean the inside of the fluff filter housing. Remove any deposits of lime scale and detergent or foreign bodies from the thread of the filter housing and filter unit (as these objects can cause a leakage
of water). Put the fluff filter back and screw it in firmly.
Cleaning and care

To clean the water inlet filters
The washing machine has two filters to protect the inlet valves. These filters should be checked every 6 months or so, or more often if there are frequent interruptions to the water supply.

To clean the filter in the union in the open end of the inlet hose:
First turn off the stopcock.
Unscrew the threaded union connecting the free end of the inlet hose to the stopcock.
Remove the rubber seal from the recess. Using pointed pliers, take hold of the plastic filter bar, remove the filter and clean.

Put the filter and seal back in the reverse order and reconnect the
hose. Turn on the stopcock and check the connection is watertight.
Inspect the inlet hose which is subjected to high pressure while the machine is in operation. The hose should be replaced if there are small cracks in the surface, or if it has been otherwise damaged.

If replacing the inlet hose only use a hose able to withstand pressure up to 70 bar. Miele's own hoses meet this requirement.

To clean the filter in the water inlet valve:
Using pliers, carefully loosen the ribbed plastic nut on the inlet valve,
and unscrew.
Use water pump pliers to withdraw the plastic filter by the bar.
Clean, put back and secure.
The two filters must be put back in place after cleaning.

Cannot open filter on indesit moon

Hi there
The filter is usually at the front of the machine down at the bottom
There you have to loosen a ca 5cm piece of metal. It usually opens like a small shelf, the you look for a round bit of plastic that you can turn clockwise do that very carefully. There can be a lot of water there behind the filter. I usually have a lot of towels on the floor to take the water as it comes out. You never know how this works the first time, after that it is easy. you take the filter out, clean it.. Put it back in.
Leave the machines brain to rest for awhile then you will be able to open the door.
good luck

My indesit will not pump or spin out the water also cannot open the door even when switched off could it be the programmer

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I do not know your particular washer so I am guessing!

I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and the motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP ANY WATER!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.

Hope this is the problem and good luck!

Water sensor light keeps coming on even tho tank empty have checked hoses and cleaned large filter at front

try cleaning out the condenser unit, instuctions are on pages 2 and 3 of your manual, if you dont have it download it from the indesit website.

instructions below.

Step 1

Open the condenser cover

towards you.

Step 2

Remove the condenser by

Washer front loader

Check the drain hose, and inspect the filter for any foreign object.

I report :"E20 means your fluff filter / waste pipe is getting blocked and themachine cannot pump out the water. Try unblocking the fluff filterfirst at the bottom of the machine. This should work, if the faultappears again though and the fluff filter is clean your waste pipe isblocked and you need to flush this through. Can you tell what I've justspent my weekend doing, I have had to get the most unbelievable amountof limescale out of these 2 areas but machine is now working fine again."

From how to mend it

Indesit.

Hi,

Most Indesit washing machines have hidden filters and are not meant to be customer accessible. If you are referring to the incoming water supply, then in some models, it would be immediately after the connector; if on the other hand, you are referring to the lint/fluff collector/filer, then there is no real filter but rather is a part of the drain system. Normally it is at the very bottom of the machine. You need to remove the lower front panel. There would be 3 clips that holds it in place. Once the inside is exposed, there would be a black circular cover at the right hand side. Unscrew it out and clean the inside. It would normally be filled with water and some other "stuff" so pls have cleaning materials handy and/or anything to absorb the spilling water.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Indesit w93 washing machine fills with water but doesn't start washing

Hi there. I have an old model, the indesit WM12. Never counted the flashing light (yours was 10) but my dial started clicking constantly at the drain part. I called Idesit and they told me it was a blockage in the filter.
The filter they speak of it located, on mine, at the front of the machine at the very bottom on the right. It is a black dial about 3 - 4 inches in diameter. Unscrew that anti-clockwise (a real pain because so much water comes out. My wife and I unscrewed it, filled a baking tray with water, screwed it back up, emptied / substituted tray then same all over again - until empty. Though putting it on drain again and again helped at same time). When I pulled out the filter found a 'colour catcher' sheet in it. We used them first time ever the other day. Removed that, gave filter a wee clean and, hey presto, all is working again. Hope that helps. Jim
