Could be either or LSU glass, or charge corona. inspect drum and fuser and look for similar patterns. do a skyshot (open the platen cover to make a black copy) and stop the copy process while the image is being formed (hit copy with the cover up, wait just a second, and open the side door while it still running the copy). This will jam it but you can see the toner on the drum and look for patterns.

SOURCE: horizontal black and white lines are coming on copy

you don't mention whether the document you are copying also appears on the paper. If it does you could have 1 of 2 problems-
The drum cleaning system could be at fault or-
the fuser roller has picked up some **** easy test...... run copies and when the 1st copy edge appears switch OFF. This is a crash stop. Now examine the sheets in there. Is the stripe on the copy before the fuser (Heat) roller? If yes you could have a drum cleaning problem, usually fixed by changing the drum module. If no and the stripe appears after the heat roll, the problem is with the fuser system, dirty rolls etc. There are a number of other problems with stripes, but you have to start somewhere! If the document does NOT appear on the copy, forget all above, could be scan or ROS problem

SOURCE: my Sharp Copier AR-5320 print black and white horizontal parallel lines on the documents.

Check for scratches on the drum surface. If you have ran a lot of copies on there, its a good time to get it serviced. It could be the cleaning blade on the drum as well.

SOURCE: Sharp AR BC260 color printing Lots of ghost lines in color prints

depends on what is the problem with it? if it's only toner on it, let it cool and clean w soap and water rag, then wipe clean. I suspect that it is most likely scratched and the coating on the fuser is missing, it should be a shiny smooth surface.

Black smudges down left side of page

How do I clean white or black spots on printed documents? Description: First make 10 to 15 copies of a blank, white sheet of paper.
If you still see the spots on printed documents after making multiple copies, clean the drum unit as follows:

  1. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, and then remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
  2. Position the print sample in front of the drum unit so you will know the exact position on the drum that is causing the poor print.
  3. all-ug-19.gif
  4. Turn the black gear on the drum as you check the surface of the OPC drum.
The OPC drum is photosensitive so do not touch it with your fingers.
  5. all-ug-20.gif
  6. When you find the substance on the drum surface that matches the print sample, gently dab the surface of the OPC drum with a cotton swab that is lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
  7. Note
      • Do not use a scrubbing or wiping motion because this might damage the drum.
        all-ug-21.gif
      • Do not try to clean the surface of the OPC drum with a sharp object, such as a ball-point pen, because this might cause permanent damage to the drum unit.
  8. If the print quality still has not improved you need to install a new drum.

AR-M355 Latent copies.

This make is not my specialty, but if the fuser's been replaced, then it can only be a drum cleaning issue causing that problem.

White and black lines appear on copies

do an internal printout and see if any lines occur... if none... then clean the glass table and the **** glass and anything else that touches them... look for white out and dark spots...

if yes... then check your fuser... see if there are any lines on it... if there then fuser bad...

then check your drum to see if there are any lines on it... if there then bad drum...
