Question about Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Blurry Pictures!!!:( I have dropped my camera in the past, but the problem was easily resolved. I didn't drop it prior to this problem though. Now, when I turn my camera on, it makes an odd click/beep noise. It still shows my old pictures clearly, but when I take new ones, they are very blurry. It is set on Auto Focus. Before this problem, my lens would not close completely when I shut my camera off, but that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I know that the blurriness has to do with the lens, but I'm not sure if it can be fixed at home. Any suggestions? Thank you :)

I have the EXACT same problem you are having. It happened once before and simply fixed itself, but recenly it happened again and I have not been so fortunate this time. How did you resolve your issue and do you have "send off info" for repairs?

This is something that will probably have to be sent in to be fixed. First try resetting your camera. In REC mode press menu go to setup tab go up to reset press right arrow highlight reset & press set. If that doesn't work send it in to repairs.

You did not say which lens or lenses you are using, but most auto-focus lenses have a switch for selecting manual or auto-focus. First, check your camera's menu settings to make sure auto-focus is enabled and then your lens to make sure you did not accidently leave it in the manual focus position? If it is in the auto-focus position and still not taking sharp pictures, switch it to manual and see if you can get it to focus correctly. It is also possible that your auto-focus alignment is out because your camera was bumped, jolted or dropped. If realignment is necessary, you can send the camera and lens to Nikon for repair or find a knowledgeable camera repairman.

Sony DSC 585 Digital Camera needs repair, is it worth it

I'd say the camera's had a good life. Technology's moved along so much in the past decade that any current camera would be a large step forward.

Your lens was damaged and probably needs service. This could be expensive so get an estimate first to help you decide what to do.

Go into the setup menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions. Sometimes that will restore your camera to original specs.

Pictures are blurry, it's been dropped

You can send back to sony, go to there web site. Repair of no questions asked is $95 plus shipping to and from. Cheaper to buy a new camera. The new cameras are now around $120.

IF YOUR PICTURES ARE BLURRY IN THE LCD, THEN YOU MOST LIKELY DO HAVE A PROBLEM. WAS THIS CAMERA BOUGHT ON AN AUCTION OR SECOND HAND, THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE IF IT WAS DROPPED? IF IT WAS DROPPED, IT MAYBE REPAIRABLE, BUT REPAIRS ARE USUALLY EXPENSIVE AND SOMETMES IT'S BETTER TO INVEST IN A NEWER CAMERA. SORRY, BUT I DON'T WANT YOU SHOCKED BY REPAIR ESTIMATES. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT, THE REPAIR COST WILL EXCEED THE COST OF THE CAMERA. SORRY. SO, CHECK THE LCD AND IF THE PICTURE THERE IS ALSO BLURRY, THE CAMERA PROBABLY HAS BEEN DROPPED AND OCCURRED SHOCK DAMAGE . IF THE LENS WAS OUT WHEN IT WAS DROPPED, YOU MIGHT TRY TO GENTLY PULL ON THE LENS WITH THE CAMERA ON. THIS SOMETIMES WILL ALIGN THE LENS AGAIN. HOPE THIS HELPS. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217. IT THIS WAS HELPFUL, PLEASE RATE!
THANKS!

Pictures are blurry; quality of photos seem compromised

As simple as this may sound, have you cleaned the lens lately? A lot of image quality deterioration comes from a finger print or other smudge on the lens. Digital cameras are succeptable to even the smallest gunk on the lens. Because the lens element is very tiny, use a cotton swab with a drop of lens cleaner (or isopropyl alcohol) to thouroughly clean and dry the lens. If it isn't a dirty lens, check your file-size and flash settings.

Blurry camera screen

If the pictures are blurry, you probably damaged the lens with the drop. You will have to send the camera to the factory service to replace the lens unit, if it is not serviceable.

If you drop a camera this is not normally covered by the warranty. You may find it cheaper to replace the camera than have any major service done to it.
