Re: i can't downgrade Vista to Xp
You can install windows XP.
First go to BIOS and change sata mode to IDE mode or option to disable SATA Native mode
then choose mode to IDE or disable SATA Native mode then install windows XP
If there is no option about change sata mode in BIOS. You should insert ahci driver to Windows XP CD using nLite
read this http://komku.blogspot.com/2007/11/integrate-driver-into-windows.html you can use this driver http://cahya.prastyanto.googlepages.com/driver-sata-ahci-4920.zip
Or you can install windows by inserting driver when setup prompted
To install Windows XP with native SATA driver, perform the following steps:
Boot the notebook PC.
Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the optical CD/DVD drive.
Press the F6 key when prompted
Press the S key to specify the additional device.
Insert the SATA driver disk into drive A. (using floppy disk drive)
Follow the on-screen prompts.
Or if both way is cannot be done
i have the third way
use an unattended XP installation disk you can download it from here: http://fenopy.com/torrent/Windows_xp_sp3_5512_cdr_october_2008_with__sata_raid_/MTU2MTEzMA==/index.html after you download burn the CD image to the CD/DVD then install XP using that CD/DVD

You can install xp on a vista laptop, you will need an xp install cd and you will need to backup your data (it will be erased in the downgrade process). As for the drivers, go to your laptops manufactures site. They will have a support section for your laptop model where you can see if there are drivers for xp. If you have the hardware that will support windows 7, I would go with that. Xp is slow and no longer supported by Microsoft as of April 2014, which poses a security risk. Windows 7 will be supported for a while and is faster and more stable than xp or vista.
When you first start the computer, go to the BIOS (usually press [Delete]) and make sure the hard drive you are installing Windows XP to is the second or third boot device. If your CD drive is IDE and your hard drive is SATA you may have a problem in the BIOS of not being able to cross from IDE to SATA.
A lot of times, when downgrading from factory installed operating systems, you run into driver issues because they arent written for any other operating system than what they offer. My best recommendation is to google the component name and desired operating system into google (like AC97 xp driver or ATI Radeon 1300m xp driver). This will take you to a lot of 3rd party sites that have drivers to work for those specific devices. Same thing happened to me with my dell xps 1530. Came with vista, but i wanted xp. Had to scour the dell site to find drivers, but eventually found them. Once you find them, burn them to a disk for later reference.
