The way it works with my camera is when I connect it to the computer with a memory card in the camera, the computer sees the contents of the memory card only, but when I connect it with NO memory card in the camera, the computer sees the contents of the camera's internal memory.
Try removing the memory card from the camera, then connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.
Take out memory card from camera, put it in any generic memory card reader, plug it with computer, click My Computer and find any new drive letter there (mass storage or some thing) click that icon and now you are in memory card of camera. Copy those pictures and paste them in picture folder in memory card. Unplug memory card from computer, put it back in camera and see those pictures. make sure picture file names that were taken from camera must not have been changed so camera will recognize them as valid file name. Thanks.
They can be purchases at Walmart, Kmart, Radio Shack, etc. They are pretty generic...the plug that goes into your camera is the only difference...take your camera with you to get the correct size.
I assume you properly installled the software drivers for the camera.
Did you check the user instructions for any details that deal with the camera's ports, set-up of the memory card, or any set-up dealing with file transfers?
Did you call the tech support for the camera?
It is possible that there is a failure in the camera. This could be with the camera's USB port, or with something in its processing.
If all of this does not work, you will have to bring the camera in for service.
