Question about Xerox WorkCentre 6400/SFS Copier

Open Question

I was getting "Cyan toner cartidge is missing or not seated properly. Install or Lock Cyan Toner Cartridge" I noticed the Cyan crum reader contact was broken so I installed the new crum reader. Now I get the error but with the black toner. "Black toner cartidge is missing or not seated properly. Install or Lock Black Toner Cartridge" How do I reset this error so I can get it up and running or is there something else that may be broken. All help appreciated.

SOURCE: Reseat imaging unit notice won't go away

The Phaser 6250 has a known flaw in the design of the gear slide assembly associated with the door over the imaging unit. One of the teeth has skipped and will require a service tech to "realign Rack-V". It's an easy fix if pictures/diagrams could be posted, but I'm not recommending a novice to attempt this fix without them. "Reseat Imaging Unit" error is a common fix for Xerox printer techs familiar with the 6250.

SOURCE: error message: cyan imaging unit is either missing or unseated

The problem is with the top cover assembly. It could be a few things. I would first try the toner sensor flags(the magnet may not be strong enough to read properly). Also replace the toner cartidge because it's magnet may also have gotten weak. Third, I would try the Toner sensor board.

I have had this problem with many printers and normally it is just the flags because of the weak magnets.

SOURCE: insert toner card? do I have another solution accept new toner?

I believe you are talking about the toner modual.
if you need to change the toner modual, you will need to tell the machine a new one is put in the machine.
Insert the card after you insert the toner modual.
The machine should prompt you that the modual has been installed.
If you have anymore questions about this, please let us know.

Error code 093-972

What model are you refering to ?
If this is a 74xx series model then it means that "Toner C CRUM Not In Position" That means that the black toner cartridge is not seating properly in position or the CRUM (counter chip) on the cartridge is missing or not in position. Easyest way to check is to replace black toner cartridge with a new one. The rest requires a service call.

Please on my Sharp copier Mx 4501n display error code F2-65 what is the cause

Your machine is starved for cyan toner. Either the toner supply pipe is blocked or the CRUM counting chip on the back of the cyan toner cartridge has burnt out or wound down to zero. Try replacing your toner cartridge. If still no go you'll have to take out the drums, developer tanks and transfer belt, hold a piece of paper under the cyan supply pipe spout and tap the pipe to break up the toner.

The Cyan Toner Cartridge is either not seated correctly or the cartridge is bad. Open the front of the printer, pull out the Cyan Toner Cartridge, reseat making sure it fits all the way to the back.

If the problem is not resolved replace the Cyan Toner Cartridge.

Have vertical cyan lines 1 inch wide on same side

Don't know about your "primed" toner, but go to Diagnostics and run the PQ test. See what that looks likes. Go to Disable Cartridge Check and swap the black and cyan toner. Run another PQ test. Are the lines still there and are they black or cyan? If they are cyan, the cartridge is bad. If they are black it's not the cartridge. It going to take a tech to look at it.

Toner Sensor Error for Cyan and Toner Out for Black

First, I wouldn't worry about the "K toner out", it might finally disappear once you get rid of the Cyan problem, if indeed you replaced the black toner for a new and healthy one.

Make sure that the cyan toner cartridge is securely fitted in it's drum unit, and the "knob" that opens the toner cartridge is in fully open position. Sometimes when manipulating inside the printer the "knob" might get moved a bit.

Generally, the toner cartridge sensor is connected via the drum unit, so usually the problem is with proper seating of the drum unit and good electrical contact between the metal fields on the sides of the drum unit and contacts protruding inside the printer. Cleaning both of any residue might help.

Once I had a defective toner cartridge, that caused such problem, but it was the contact between the toner cartridge and the drum that was broken. You have to experiment a bit.
I'm pretty sure in this model it is possible to swap two units - if you swap for example cyan with magenta, and observe if the error moves from cyan to magenta or not, you can draw conclusions if the problem is with the toner/drum, or with the printer not seeing the cartridge for some reason (sensor inputs killed by static electricity for example).

Minolta 2430dl X toner not installed

If you are lucky you can just clean the contacts on the cartridges themselves and the "crum reader" and the printer will recognize the toner again.

The weakest part of this printer's design is the crum reader(part name "pushbutton switch" part number "4139630602").It isn't robust and you can easily bend the spring loaded contact through trying to clean it or with normal usage. Once bent or stuck it will no longer make contact.

The part is located in a white housing on the left hand side of the printer below the drum. To get at the part, remove two toner cartridges. Rotate the toner cartridge assembly around (push the recessed release button in the beige plastic right hand side under the main door) until the empty slots are by the crum reader (black piece with three spring loaded copper wires extending fromthe flat surface). You can now access the crum reader. It is held in by two clips one on the left and one on the right. Use a small screwdriver to pop it out, disconnect the ribbon cable and replace it. The hardest part is putting the ribbon cable back on the new part. The whole procedure takes about 5 minutes. Order extra crum readers so you have them on hand.

The normal Konica Minolta parts line can’t order this part. In Aug. 07, I called 800-622-5546 [2] [3] (orderadministration section) and ordered the part. It was $5.
