Question about Toshiba A105-S4054 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a toshiba satelite A105 I am trying to use the "bridge media adaptor slot" on the front to read the card I just took out of my digital camera. I snap the card in, but there is no sign that the computer is recognizing anything. Even though the computer is 3plus years old, it prob has less that 100 hrs use on it. I never used any of this photo stuff before, so have no idea what to do. would love some help!

Well first off is do you hear any sounds indicating its been detected?if not its possible the card reader may need a driver update, which you can do by going to the device manager and locating the removable media device click on it and select update. after that it may work, also check for lights near the card reader slot. (btw its also possible to connect your camera via usb camera try it first its easier)

Where do i install the camera memory card into my laptop

According to the manufacture web site that model has a - • 4-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter, with Secure Digital, Secure Digital High Capacity, Memory Stick™, Memory Stick PRO™, Multi Media Card™ [shared slots]
So basically you need to look for just one slot, and you have to use one of those memory formats, If your using something else then it wouldn't work, You'll need a USB adapter that will read your type of media, The slot looks like its on the front edge of the laptop. It'll be a pretty small slot across the front, about where your left thumb would be. Its possible you have a model that didnt have one. The Bridge Media Adapter slot (available on certain models) supports the use of Memory Stick,, Memory Stick™ PRO, Secure Digital™ (SD™), MMC™ (MultiMediaCard™), or xD-Picture Card™ media. These media can be used with a variety of digital products: digital music players, cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, digital video camcorders, etc.
Lots of good info and owners manual at. http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2221250&rpn=PSLB8U&modelFilter=L300-ST3502&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663
hopefully you can just click on all that,,,,,,

White screen on my laptop

The first is to check the connections for the lcd. You will have to take the keyboard off and pop the front cover off.and use a screwdriver.

This may also be a driver issue or video card issue..

Inserting media card into toshiba laptop

Hi,
In the card slot if u are inserting a mmc card it will be inserted directly and after inserting u will find a new drive in my computer and on opening that u will be finding the data and to transfer the data directly right click on the data and send to drive name allottedto card reader.
If u rae using a micro SD card then u will have to use an adaptor which will convert micro sd card to the MMC size.

Toshiba satelite A105?

Hi Koreasp,

You will need to find out the model number aswell, ie "A105-S101".

Once you have that, head along to the Toshiba website here : http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp#. Click on the download menu at the top. Select 'Portables' in the first list, then 'Satellite' in the second list, then your model number in the right hand list. Then click GO.

On the resulting page, click on 'Users Guide' in the submenu. Or the 'Detailed Specs'.

Hope this helps!

Mutlitple Digital Media Card Slot

Can't retrieve your card? Do you mean can't eject it? You may need to remove the Keyboard/ Palm Rest and check to see if the eject button is stuck or broken.
