Recent months had to press the on/off switch many times and hold down to get it on. It progressively got worse. Now cannot get a picture at all. Have sound after it warms up with flashing white box and sometimes other various flashing, sometimes big green blank screen. I can get the menu screen clearly. When I power up it says "power on please wait" then "no cable connected". But it is connected. Purchased Protron set 2005 from SHOP NBC. Please help or where can I get help or service. Something to be said for namebrands. I thought I would save a little money.

I'm pissed! Shat on again. I'd like to see a class action lawsuit against those lying bastards that can't make an HDTV. no steps have been taken to solve this problem yet. My protron tv suddenly crashed after about one year of usage. The tv has sound, but no picture. Also when you change the channel, you can see picture for about a fraction of a second or two.

I have been trying to use my protron as a computer monitor through the VGA plug on the bottom rear of my protron to connect my computer. All my connections are made correctly however I only get a blue screen. On the bottom rear next the HDMI plug should be the VGA however it is stamped D-SUB does this make a difference. Protron 26" TV was purchased in April 05 from Shop NBC and now as of July 25th has no picture. So the TV lasted a little boverf 3 years and I paid $899.00. I have the same problem (ours is a 32 in). I was watching TV and it just shut off never to come back on. It tries to come on when we hit the power button but turns right back off. I tried unplugging to no avail. Â We bought 2 from ShopNBC Â so I guess I'm going to have a pool on when the other one will poop out.

Had the same problem. Sent My TV in to protron for warranty work on 11/24/07. They told me 2-4 weeks to fix. It is now 5/2/08 and they said my tv can't be fixed so a replacement tv will be sent maybe in the next 6-8 months!!!!! Don't Buy or Fix a protron TV just get a new one and save yourself the trouble!!!!
Hello, I had the same problem as silvergirl, but my protron is 37 inches, what happen we installed a new cable company, which I recieve both internet and cable on the same wire. When the company came installed, my problems with the T.V. began, no power or picture, I could hear the sound only. The cable company kept informing me that it is the T.V not the cable. I also have dish network. I disconnected the cable wires from my T.V. I test ran my dish network, my T.V. was working just fine, no problems with the picture or sound. So I guess the cable company is wrong. After we knew there is nothing wrong with the T.V it was the installation of the cable wires going into the T.V we disconnected all the wires from the T.V one by one, that included the D.V.D, surround system and cable wires and reinstalled the wires one by one in the correct input. Try this, as soon as i reinstalled the wires in the right out put, by this I did test in trial by plugging the wires into the output on the T.V and kept flipping the channels until I got cable, it worked, I have no problems with it.

I hope that you have gotten this working! But if not, here are some simple steps to do so.
1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote 2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below) 3. Press the # (POUND) button 4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Hello!!!! This sounds like a new brand that we just may not have the codes for yet. But try this power scan, which will scan the tv for the right code. It is quick and simple, and I hope it helps!
1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.
I also have a 32' Protron LCD TV and had the same problem. Try this, it worked for me.
Push the TV button once, then press and hold the Setup button untill TV button flashes two times (aboutut 3-5 seconds) now enter this code 10178. TV button should flash two more times. Now your remote should work your TV. Good Luck!!!

Press Setup,Right Arrow,Press Down 3 Times,Then Enter 2 times this should reset factory settings, I Hope This Is Correct As I Realize You Cant See The Menu But I Studied The Manual And Wrote Out The Exact Key Movements To Navigate The Restore Factory Settings menu. Scrolling/black-and-white/"out of tracking" display on a DVD player is generally caused by the DVD player being switched into Progressive Scan mode on a TV not capable of viewing that content. Scan the remote for a button labeled Progressive, I/P, P.Scan, or anything similar. Scan the user manual for information on resetting this also. If the manual and remote come up dry, call Protron and see if there's a key combo you can hold to reset that. Often, holding Play for 5-10 seconds will reset to standard (Interlaced) mode, or holding Stop while turning the unit on. Sometimes, holding Display on the remote for a few seconds will also switch this setting. Good luck.
