Hard wire into your router, enter ip address and then user name and password or factory default.
Change password security to none, save settings, cycle power on router. This will clear secutiy on router and now repeat the above steps and enable secutity and assign password.
If you forgot the d-link configuration password - the default user id is admin and password is admin If that does not work then below the router there is a reset button use a paper clip to push and hold it down for 20 seconds it will reset the password to default ( NOTE : YOUR ROUTER CONFIGURATION WILL BE LOST IF YOU RESET THE ROUTER) If you need the wifi password Click on the icon, which is usually next to the clock, and then right-click your connection. choose the wifi connection and right click right click and Select Properties and then check the Show Characters box. Doing this will display the password.

If you can't remember the user name and password of your router the only way you can correct this is to reset it by doing this following procedure.
To reset the router using a pen or paper clip press and hold the reset button of the router for 15 seconds while power is ON and then after that power off and power on the router and it will be back to its default settings with default user name and password of the router which is admin and you just need to reconfigure the router for internet connections.
If you have any computer hardwired to the router than click on start >> go to run >> type cmd and press enter >> type ipconfig and press enter >> this will show you an ip address, subnet mask and default gateway >> note down youe default gateway >> open an internet explorer and type the default gateway in address bar for example : 192.168.1.1 and press enter >> it will ask you for user name and password >> by default user name should be admin and password should be admin/password. >> after logging in to the router page go to wireless security and check your wireless network key.
If you fail to do this than you might have to reset your router and have to re-configure it again.
If you forgot your password, you must reset your router. Unfortunately this process will change all your settings back to the factory defaults. To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process. Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. When logging in, the username is admin and leave the password box empty.
The default ip for DLINK devices are as below: 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.30 192.168.0.50
Default user-name: Admin Default password is: Admin
Another thing you can do is to reset it. This will erase all the configuration an then brings it to the default manufacturer password. But make sure you have all the details before resetting.(like username and password given to you by your isp. You will see a reset button at the back normally we use the tip of pen to press it while power the router.
ok Try this Any other help, you are most welcome Cheers uttam
the only way to restore the router is to hard reset the router, which will reset the router to the factory defaults and then setup the router as the first time installation and the default username and password will be restored,i kno this is much of a work to reset the router and again setup the router like 1st time installation but this is the only way to retrieve the default user name and password..
By default the username is admin, and the password is admin, if didn't work try resetting the router by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds so it will be back to its default settings with the default user and password as admin.
