SOURCE: the remote has stopped working.
You need to determine if the remote is indeed faulty: take your phone and start its camera, go in a dark room and point the remote at the camera - if the screen doesn't shines then indeed the remote is dead an you will have to replace it. You should be able to find a replacement one at your white-goods shop.
If the remote is functional then the defect is in the control panel of the unit. To fix that the panel will have to be replaced and this is a job for a pro - only he has access to replacement parts, they aren't sold to the general public..
