Snapscan 1212 stopped working when my Mac was upgraded to 10.6.8. The error reads 'failed to find current color sync'

Puedes encargar 5 archivos para installar SANE en tu computadora. Es un met?do como TWAIN que las computadoras pueden usar para comunicar.
Despu?s de installar los archivos de SANE, puedes usar Graphic Converter 7, una utilidad para convertir y editar fotos. Se puede excanear usando los mandatos Scan>Scan with Image Capture... Cuesta $39, pero se puede usar grat?s por un rato.

If the naming conventions are the same in the Ubuntu libraries as they are in the Mac libraries (no guarantee there, but I was just looking at them, and they look almost identical), it's not finding the appropriate driver for the scanner. I know that the SnapScan 1212u will work with Ubuntu, because I came across several discussions, as I was looking for a solution for my Mac. Have you installed the Linux SANE libraries? Agfa scanners were very popular for years, and mine still works great, too. I know that numerous Agfa scanners, including the 1212u are supported in the SANE backend libraries for Mac, allowing TWAIN acquisitions with devices that may no longer be supported with current scanning software.
I think you just need to install the SANE libraries, backends, and any interface (it's 5 files on the Mac). There's some additional troubleshooting information and links to files, here.

I had the same problem. Upgraded from G5 PowerPC Tiger OS to iMac Snow Leopard. Have a Snapscan 1236U (ScanWise) and got the same error message ("cannot find the current ColorSync System Profile"). Downloaded trial version of VueScan (www.hamrick.com) , scanner worked, so purchased the VueScan Professional Edition ($79.99) (Standard Version is $39.99). My scanner is now working GREAT!

no cause it wont worked together because the two devices doesn't have the same slots.

there is something wrong with snapScan 1212 Flatbed Scanner. There is missing in your item try to check your device and read the manual properly to solve your problem.

please check whether you have installed the software in Administrator mode only because it can restrict you in establishing the connection..Also try to restart before you reinstall your Scanwise..hope this helps you..thank you!!..
