Power up, go into your bios, disable secure boot, enable legacy devices, save/exit, power down, add gfx card and you should be good to go.

Hopefully that works for ya!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You would do this in BIOS.
There will be a setting to disable the onboard video.

Hope this helps.

My computer got tipped over and won't boot up It beeps 4 short beeps and nothing happens. What does the beeps mean? It's a gateway dx4870-h with motherboard IPIMB-AR Rev:1.02a

The beeps mean that something has come unplugged from the motherboard, likely the video card or memory. Check that all the cards are plugged in fully, and you will likely be fine.

I bought a new computer case and I want to use my mobo from my current pc. Gateway DX4870-ub318. I can't tell which pins to use for the power.

You will get better help at a computer repair shop than a component sales outlet. The same problem with two monitors suggests either bad cables or motherboard trouble.
