System failure of toshiba satellite a215-s7422

Hi, my name is Jii Park. I bought toshiba satellite a215-s7422 in December 2007. It's been working very well until today I dropped something on the right side of the keyboard part of my laptop. When I try to reboot, it makes weird coin-dropping sounds and all I can see is a blank black page. I tore apart the back of the laptop but I don't know what to do about it. What should i do? It doesn't seem like anything has broken inside...

Put the laptop back together, its possible youve damaged one of the boards, and the "coin sounds" you hear are jsut beeps from the motherboard indication some form of system failure. call toshiba and see if you have any warranty coverage, and out of curiosity what did you drop on it? something heavy i presume?

Satellite A215 Works fine on vista or xp. i also have tried using win 7 instead. lots of setting you gotta do. most of the important things is the special driver AHCI

1. It means the normal shutdown process is not working!

2. Try to press the "Power" button continuously untill the system shuts down!

3. Restart the system.

4. Press F8 key to get the advanced booting options.

5. Select the last option "Last Known Best Configuration"!

Activating crisis mode for toshiba satellite a215-s7422

If you mean safe mode, as soon as you turn on the computer start pressing the F8 button about once a second. That should bring you to the safe mode option.

Toshiba satilite a215 s7422 bios password how to cleare

You'll need a special tool that only Toshiba has. I believe you can get yours cleared for FREE if you tell them that all of a sudden out of nowhere you have a bios password. Stick to that story because they've already admitted to the problem with many of their laptops. You'll have to find an authorized Toshiba repair center to take care of it for you. Otherwise I believe they charge around $100 to clear it.

Don't bother to try the cmos battery trick, it doesn't work on your model. The password is stored on an onboard chip.
