Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

Washer leaking from top

I have a 3 year old fisher and paykel ecosmart GWL11. In the final spin, it leaks water from the top and bottom, I can even hear it ( sounds like rain in the laundry closet). I ran diagnostics and all was well. I cleaned a saftey pin out of the diverter valve. The problem persists. What else can I do??

Sounds like it's plugged and the water is thrown by the centrifugal force. Sometimes stuff can get between the drum and tub, plugging the drain. This can be sporadic, sometimes no problem cuz the item is away from the drain hole during extract.
Sometimes minor partial disassembly will allow you to see between the drum and tub. A pick up tool can snag things down deep.

You have to look over the unit and see how to lift the top back. There may be a piece of plastic that needs removed to access the area between the tub and drum. Look with a flashlight and try to see under the tub (through the holes) as well as alongside it. See the drain if you can .

Warning! Take care and remember how to reassemble the washer. It may be a pain in the neck getting it apart and you might find wiring harnesses to be unplugged, wires running through keepers, the control panel may have to have the front removed to get access to screws holding the top down to the sides and back, etc, etc ad naseum. If you force things there can be gaps between the panels after re-assembly.

A pick up tool is one of those spring loaded flexible dohickeys that has the little fingers that spread out when you squeeze the handle. Harbor Freight has em cheap if you're near one of their stores. I call them "remote **** pinchers".

This may not be the problem. If this isn't it, then there still could be a clog between the drum and the pump as well as between the pump and drain. The pump could have a sock in it. I used to run a coin op laundry and kept 70 washers and dryers going, and I've seen this. You may be able to see thru the pump if if's translucent plastic by putting a flashlight behind it. Or remove the hose on the inlet side and peek in there. While the drain hose is off the pump get a bucket or pan and put the hose in it and pour water into the tub. See how well it gravity drains.

The pump could have failed, but I doubt this. 3 years with a family of a dozen, maybe.

    Cheers! Jidza

IWL16 leaves black specs on clothes

there could be something stuck in the machine between the two bowls. lifting the lid, removing the ring, agitator and inner bowl will easily check this. if the machine has become loud on spin, and the leak is actually from the bottom (more likely) then it could need seals and bearings replaced. don't run it too much more while leaking, electricity and water don't mix XD

Washer leaking water while spinning

Check the drain hose where it leaves the machine, if the square section of it is not in the plastic housing it will cut on the cabinet, if this has happened replace the hose they are difficult to repair, Other possibilities, pump is leaking, and check that the inlet hoses are not leaking and have washers in every connection.

Fisher Paykel Ecosmart washing machine spills water.

sometimes too much detergent, or extra cleaners like oxy clean) will cause lots of foam which will cause the water level sensor to misread, or foam over the top of the drum. if this is not the problem, you will have to tilt the machine on its side and look for loose or damaged hoses. the play in the tub will not cause leaking
