The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

SOURCE: Not picking up the Bobbin thread

Sounds like you have to take off the throat plate and clean out threads under it.  Sometime they ball up and prevent the needle from going down and catching the bobbin thread. You can't see themuntil you take off the plate.  Follow the directions.  It is easy.

Baby lock quilt & craft model BL2300K. I received this from mother in law, no manual. Does any one know where the oil locations are so I can oil. Starting to make noise needs oil, thank you, robert

As a computerized machine, it is probable that there is very little (if any) oiling required. You can check with your local Baby Lock dealer's technician for oiling instructions and a manual for your machine. (Oiling incorrectly could permanently damage the machine.)

I was unable to locate a manual for your machine, but did find this web site:

WHY??!! *Check if thread is entangled. Check if needle is bent. So far as I can tell everything is fine, used new bobbin, new needle, still getting error. How do I know if the motor has become locked

Time to take it in and have the repair tech service & clean upper tension assembly. When you clip/ change threads be sure not to pull the thread back out of tension assembly. Snip thread at spool, raise foot to release tension and then pull the short thread out from the needle. The Automatic tension is very delicate and pulling thread out backwards can cause thread/lint build up and problems like your having. Sal the Sewing Gal

How do I load the shuttle?

If it is an older model sewing machine, there is a little flap on the bobbin shuttle. Pull out on the flap when you insert the shuttle into the machine, then let go of it. That should lock the bobbin into place.
Good luck

WHAT DO I DO TO GET MY BABY LOCK ELLURE ESL TO PICK UP THE BOBBIN THREAD?

You have your bobbin inserted into the machine spinning in the wrong direction. take the bobbin out and flip it over and wind around needle plate guide and cut. Look at the little pictogram on the plastic part of the machines throat plate. It shows which direction the thread should spin off the spool when you drop the top loading bobbin into the bobbin case.

Needle catching / getting stuck

You probably just need to clean the bobbin case and the foot area of lint and debris. Other things to check: is your bobbin loaded correctly? is your needle in correctly? is the thread loaded correctly. I've found these to be the cause of most problems I've had in 30 years of sewing.
