What yo have to do is take a pudy knife and insert it between the top lid and front panel in the front of the unit, you will find a clip on the left side and right side with the knife press the clip in and you can lift the lid after that there is 2 screws at the top and two in front of your lint filter remove them and you are all set

Clothes dryer blows thermal limiter. Replaced and worked perfect for three days, then blew again.

I appreciate your post, David!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is blowing the thermal limiter and you think the problem could be with the motor or heating element. In order to pinpoint the problem with your dryer I would suggest seeking assistance from a professional technician. They will have the appropriate tools needed for test each component and this will help prevent you from purchasing unnecessary parts. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

I have a FDE336re2 frigidaire dryer. I have replaced 3 thermal limiter switches and the 3204267 Frigidaire Dryer Safety Thermostat. The exhaust is clear. I operated the machine with the entire top lid...

Try running the dryer with out the vent hose connected see if the problem persists. This will eliminate the ventilation system of your home from the equation. Then if problem persists must gointo the dryer.

E66 Error

Hello samanthaway - Error code E66 indicates that the thermal limiter circuit is open. Base on the intensity of the issue, I suggest contacting a professional technician to accurately repair the unit. Technician will need to check the inlet or outlet thermal limiter for continuity. If the thermal limiter is open, tech will need to check for evidence of high temperature event and any resulting damage. If no further damage is evident, the thermal limited and retest will need to be replaced.

I have fridgidaire dryer and when I push the start button it just makes a buzzing noise but does not start

Unplug the dryer or disconnect power then remove the two screws securing the top panel to the rear and slide the panel backwards and off.

Behind the drum is the thermal limiter which is wired in series with the motor.

Check the continuity of the thermal limiter and if it reads open, replace it including the high-limit thermostat located on the heater housing (also shown in the picture above). Bypass the thermal limiter for troubleshooting purposes by joining the wires together and insulating it properly. If the dryer starts and runs properly with this setup, the thermal limiter is indeed open. If the dryer still does not start, jump a wire between the COM and NO terminals of the door switch. The dryer should start with the thermal limiter and door switch bypassed, otherwise bypass the motor relay on the control board. Replace control board if the dryer starts with the three bypassed, otherwise the motor is the one at fault and needs to be replaced.

My frigidaire dryer LEQ642DS0 will not shut off by itself, would that be the timer or the knob? Also if it is the timer, is the kenmore/frigidaire part #131062300 (timer) compatable with my dryer

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* Phillips and hex nut screwdrivers
* Replacement thermal fuse
* Replacement thermostat

1. Disconnect the dryer from the electrical outlet.
2. Slide a putty knife between the top panel and front panel on the left side. Slide the knife toward the center of the dryer to release the left-side spring clip. Repeat the process on the right side. Lift the top panel up and rotate toward the back of the dryer. The thermal fuse and thermostat are located along the dryer's back wall, attached to the heating element housing.
3. Disconnect the two wires from the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is an inch-long rectangular plastic part, located near the top of the heating element housing. Remove the screw holding the thermal fuse in place. Remove the old fuse. Place a new fuse on the housing and replace the screw. Reconnect the wires to the fuse.
4. Remove the wires on the thermostat. The thermostat is a black, oval-shaped part located just below the thermal fuse. Remove the screws holding the thermostat in place and slide it out of its slot on the heating element housing. Slide a new thermostat into the slot and replace the screw. Reconnect the wires.
5. Lower the dryer's top panel and press down until the spring clips lock into place. Plug the dryer back into the electrical outlet.

Now that I have replaced the thermister on my Frigidaire Gallery Series 2004 electric dryer not only does it not produce any heat, though the blower works, the motor which turns the drum is not working...

Do not replace the control board unless the necessary troubleshooting is done to eliminate the other possible causes of the problem. The dryer will not heat if the motor doesn't run because the heating circuit is completed by the motor centrifugal switch which the motor activates. The problem with the motor not running must be determined and addressed first.

Disconnect power and with the top panel removed, locate the thermal limiter, a non-resettable fuse, mounted on the rear wall of the dryer.

Bypass the thermal limiter by disconnecting and joining the wires together. Reconnect power and start the dryer. Replace the thermal limiter along with the high-limit thermostat if the dryer starts and the problem with the motor not running is solved.

Let us know if the dryer still doesn't start and/or the drum lamp doesn't turn on when the door is opened with the thermal limiter bypassed for further advice.

HAVE A heater out on my over an under Frigidaire model FEX831CSO . Dont how to get heat el. out . This is not a floor moael. This is a combo. model.

Hi.

You access the heater parts by opening the top panel, part 3 on diagram below.

The heater assembly is part of the housing, and it is part 15 on diagram.

Replacing the heater requires further disassembly, first ensure that the problem is not a defective thermostat or thermal limiter. The thermostats fails far more commonly than the heater.

To test heater and thermostat use a multimeter set at Rx1. disconnect the thermostat contacts and read impedance at room temperature.
If the thermostat is good it will read zero or very low impedance.
An alternative way to test a thermostat is by jumping its contacts.

The element is also tested reading impedance. If the element has no continuity (infinite Ohms), then it must be replaced, otherwise it is good.

Test both the thermostat and the Thermal limiter, they are tested in the same way. Both this parts are accessible after removing the top panel, and can be replaced without further disassembling.

Here the parts:

Thermostat:PS446428 part 33 in diag.

Thermal limiter:PS419402 , part 36 in diag.

Test and repair must be done by a trained person. Call the phone number listed on the user manual if you need to contact a qualified technician.

Regards.

Frigidaire dryer overheats, already checked venting

check upline from the thermal limiter, to the temperature control.
it's elementary, but double-check the right part number with the folks who sold you the limiter.
after that, it's hard to say- possibly you got a bad limiter.

Thermal limiter tripped

Once you take the top pannel off, the limiter is near the top back. It's kind of hard to get to so you may want to take the drum out before replacing.

Good luck :)
