Question about Air Tools & Compressors
I need to change from CW to CCW on an A O Smith 5 hp 3 phase type MOGB on a 184T fram motor. there are 12 wires that tie to 3 and 3 are tied together. what3 wire need to tie to what wire and which3 to L1,to L2,to L3 ? 4 grops of 3 each wire has a letter and number on it.
Swap any two leads L1 to L3 this will change rotation hope this helps a common color code is brown orange yellow in that order known as BOY at power feed you can change the wires at the disconnect load or motor side

I am not sure what you mean by "center wire". For 230V single phase you should have 2 hot line leads (115V each) and a ground wire. Set the motor leads as the nameplate shows for the high voltage connection and attach your line leads where the two lines are indicated. If you have a 3+Grd wire drop DO NOT connect the neutral, insulate it and leave it unconnected. It will not matter which line lead connects to which motor line wire as far as rotation direction. To change rotation, if the motor allows it, you reverse the start winding leads as directed on your nameplate.
