I assume you running it on Windows 7 32-Bit. Now before you trying the tips below, do make sure your computer is compatible and meet the Sims 3 requirement.
The Sims 3 can be run on a PC with Windows XP and Vista, and on a Mac. However, there is no official Windows 7-compatible version. This means that Sims 3 will not install on Windows 7 properly. To fix this error, you need to run Sims 3 in Compatibility Mode. To do that, simply right-click the Sims 3 icon, select Properties and then select Compatibility. Then check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box and select Windows Vista or Windows XP SP3. The game should work fine.
There are two different versions of the game available for PC and MAC, a 'strawberry' and 'vanilla' version, with both providing half a season of gameplay. PC OS: Windows XP/Vista/W7 Processor: XP: 1.4GHz or Faster / Vista/W7 : 2.0GHz or Faster Supported Processors: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon Memory: XP: 512MB RAM / Vista/W7: 1.0GB RAM Hard Drive Space: 2GB DVD-Drive: 4x Speed Video Card: 128MB *Supported Chipsets : (see below) Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible Directx: Version 9.0c (included) LAN: TCP/IP compliant Input: Keyboard, Mouse

SOLUTION 3: Using Daemon tools software you can mount the game image (virtual drive) and by installing the game you can manage to play. Click hereto download Daemon Tools.
Please check the compatibility of the game with Vista, and am not sure if this compatible at first place.
Secondly you can run programs or games in XP mode by right clicking on the exe file of the game, goto properties and select compatibility, and then select to run in XP mode.
Hope this helps
I got Gizmos and Gadgets to work on my Vista PC by copying the entire CD to C:/Windows/System32.
After that, open the "ssgwincd" folder, and inside that folder open "ssgwincd" again. Inside the second folder there will be a file called "ssgwincd.exe" right click on it and select properties. In the properties window click on the compatability tab and set the program to run in compatability mode for windows 95 and to run in 256 colors and in the 640x480 window
It should then work for you, but I would suggest putting a shortcut to the program on your desktop so you can find it easier later on.
It seems that Hunting unlimited 4 is only for systems up to Windows XP....
Try installing the game in compatability mode...might work...
explore the game cd
look for the setup.exe or install.exe
right click and view properties
look for the compatability tab
under compatability click the box that says run this program in compatability mode ....make sure you choose windows xp then ok the window
now double click on the exe file that you´ve just changed and see if that works
