The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: klh subwoofer asw12 200 powers on but no sound,

There's an amp inside the unit, most likely the semicondutor that does all the work has failed in it.

SOURCE: sub woofer produces a very loud low tone

I have the same problem. JavaMan is right. In one case someone even reported the bridge rectifier had failed. I have mine apart right now, trying to decide whether to attempt to fix it. The power board has been warped a little from the heat, and I can no longer read the color bands correctly on the power resistors to try to change them. Thanks for the schematics, JavaMan; unfortunately they don't match my boards, so I'm out of luck, and can't find anything else.

The components aren't expensive, so you might be able to take it someplace and have it repaired (or have a friend do it) fairly cheaply if the schematics here match your sub. I think I'm gonna chuck mine, which I hate to do since the speaker and cabinet are still good. I've just wasted too much time on it, and already have another in its place.

SOURCE: KLH ASW8-100b Sub woofer. I

Some specific model numbers might lead us to specific manuals and specific instructions.

Depends on your source and its amplifer complement. Some can drive a subwoofer directly while others just produce a Line Level subwoofer output for use by a separate amp feeding a subwoofer or self-amplified sub.

The set-up of the source to produce a subwoofer output is totally dependent on its design. Generally, you have to 1) tell it you have a sub, 2) define how bass will be routed or shared among your various speakers accordingto their bass-handling capacities, 3) using test tones, set the relative ludness and crossover settings so you have a uniform sound field.

To find a manual, maybe run it by the manufacturer

I just got my system today. All the speakers are working, except the sub-woofer. Any ideas what could be wrong (if not DoA)?

Did you connect power to the sub-woofer? Most subs have their own amplifier. Just check if there is also an on / off switch on the sub.

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

Alright i had a chance to look over things, this is how you are going to hook up the sub. first we'll be connecting the surround sound unit to the sub woofer.
surround sound unit sub woofer
left front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) left speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - ->( - ) left speaker level in

right front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) right speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - >( - ) right speaker level in

now that the surround sound unit is connected to the sub woofer you will need to connect the front surround sound speakers to the sub woofer.
sub woofer front surround sound speaker
left speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) left front speaker
left speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - - ->( - ) left front speaker

right speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) right front speaker
right speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - ->( - ) right front speaker

Alright now that the wires are all over the place and plugged in
turn everything on and see how it sounds. let me know if everything is working as it should. if you need help with anything else or if something does not seem right please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone
