Re: Diagonal Picture

Here is the link for the operating instructions if you need it;®ion_id=1 Check page 74 for the reset instructions - You have to push in the reset button next to the card slot under the cover with a pointy object. If this doesn't help, please post back any details of screen flashing/messages/lights etc. hope this helps :)

You need to change the exposure. You didn't say which Canon camera you have, so these instructions are general. Find the "P" on the mode dial - this is "program" mode. Now look for a button which has a +/- on it - there should be a diagonal line, and half is white and half is black. When you choose this, it will let you turn the exposure up or down. Turn it up (to the right) with the "right" key, and then choose 'set' or 'OK'. Now take the picture.

When I rotate pics I don't have the option to rotAte 45 degrees, it rotates 90

Correct. The camera lets you put the picture on its right side, on its left side, upside-down, or right-side up. It will NOT let you tilt the picture on a diagonal.

How do I turn the flash off?

On the top of the camera, near the wheel, there are 2 small round buttons, the one nearest the wheel has a lightning bolt on it, this button scrolls through flash modes. Change it to where the mode is a lightning bolt with a circle and diagonal line through it and flash should be disabled.

Diagonal black line across the bottom right corner - canon eos 1D Mark IIN

Most likely the shutter blind is sticking and not getting out the way when you take a picture. It will need a service.

No Flash

Is there a symbol on the screen of a lightning bolt in a circle with a diagonal line going through it? If so, your flash is turned off. If not, maybe the pictures you're trying to take don't require flash. Do they seem to coming out ok?

Undo flash

On the back of the camera you should see a little picture of a lightning bolt. Click this multiple times and it will cycle thru the different flash settings. Look for the one where the bolt is in a circle and there's a diagonal line going across it. This means NO FLASH. Once you have set that it will prevent the camera from firing the flash.

With the camera on, push the mode button 5 times. The window will show a square with a dark circle in it, and a diagonal line through. Hold the shutter button (that you take a picture with) down until the camera "beeps". This will erase all the pics in the camera. To erase the last pic taken, push the mode button 4 times. This gives you a square with a lighter circle and diagonal line - hold the shutter button until it beeps.

Turning off the flash

This camera has four flash modes and each time you press the button the mode changes. As you press the button you should see the indictor in the upper left side of the screen.
1. In automatic flash, the camera will decide if you need flash or not. This mode does not have any indicator on the screen
2. Forced flash, this will cause the flash to be constantly on. The indicator looks (kind of) like a lightning bolt.
3. Slow Syncro, this mode slightly delays the flash and is used to lighten up the background more the foreground. The indicator looks like the lightning bolt with SL next to it.
4. No flash, this will turn off the flash. The indicator looks like a lightning bolt enclosed by a circle with a diagonal line through the lightning bolt. (similar to a no parking sign).
The mode you want is the circle and diagonal slash over the top of the lightning bolt.
If you don’t see the indictor changing on the screen the switch behind the button is malfunctioning.
