I cannot find the scans.

The scans are going to C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\My Documents\My Pictures\today's date. The last date I see is 1\19\2009. I can eventually find the scan with photoshop, but this method is too slow. How do I fix this?

Sorry. I do not know how to implement your solution. The scanner icon is on my desk top .....I cannot change where the photos are going. I cannot find the folder with today's date

  • Artiste1 Jan 24, 2009

This is one way of finding the jpg, but for some reason the scans are not being put into folders with the rest of the list of dated images. That is where I want to see them. I am not sure what happened. Before I would go to My Documents\My Pictures. That was it.

Now it is C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\My Documents\My Photos and the photo is not listed. The browse button in the tool box next to the above will not let me change this setting. How can I do this so I can see the folders with the dates under My Pictures?

    Thank you!

  • Artiste1 Jan 24, 2009

This is the target "C:\Program Files\Canon\CanoScan Toolbox Ver4.1\CSTBox.exe"

I am a little afraid to uninstall and install the software because I tried that once and then I lost the drivers.....

Try using the software provided by canon in your scanner. Set thru that, the path to store the pics at your convenience. Normally if you go to My PC and double click you will see the scanner (icon). Just simply select the icon (left click) and then right click to select the command that you want.

  • Anonymous Jan 24, 2009

Well, we have a misunderstanding here. Not panic. Open your windows explorer and go to Search, simply type there the name of the folder or file that you're looking for and see what happen.

  • Anonymous Jan 24, 2009

I thought that when you started using the photoshop the path were changed and the photoshop store your files in differents folders, you have to back to original way.

Open your scan program and check the path where the file goes after saved. If you are doing this thru photoshop check the settings on the pop up window in photoshop when you open the program to start a new scan, in that window you can set the setting of where the program store the files.

If you want to see the path of your scanner, select your scan icon on your desktop, then do right click and go to properties and choose "find target"

Other way is uninstall and install the software of your scanner again.

Hi, please tell me how (if) I can change the order of my scanned documents in my user box, so the latest documents I have scanned are on page 1, rather than the last pages etc. So I don't have to go...

if you right click while in the window a little dialog box should pop up with options like "view", "sort by" "group by". Scroll over "sort by" and click either "date taken" or "date Modified" and your scanned documents should now be in the order they were created.

How to use my hp photosmart C5280 All in One scanner unsing mac leopard

When you install the Full Feature software for your printer, you receive the HP Photosmart Studio imaging software and the HP Utility printer management software. You can use either of these programs to scan, and can create custom settings in both.

In general, use HP Photosmart Studio to scan pictures if you want to edit them to adjust color, crop, remove red eye, etc. Use HP Utility to set up scan tasks you use often, such as scanning to a certain folder or software application, or attaching the scanned item to an email. If your printer has a display, you also use HP Utility to designate which scan tasks should appear on the printer display menu when you start a scan from the controls on the printer.

Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer. Turn it on. Place the item with the print side down on the scanner glass.

Use HP Photosmart Studio to start a scan: Click the HP Photosmart Studio icon in the Dock. Click the Scan button. Select your HP product in the Device Name list, if necessary, and then click Continue. From the Scan Profiles screen, click either Pictures or Documents. Click Profile Settings , and then adjust any settings in the Capture , Adjust , and Page Options (for documents) or Enhance (for pictures) tabs as appropriate. Click Scan. When prompted, select Yes or No to add another page to the scan. The scan preview opens then click Return to close the preview and save the scan. Type a name for the scan in the Save As box. Click the Format drop-down list, select the file format you want, and then click Save.

I don't know where my scanned files go?

If you scan it as a document, it will create a folder labeled with the date it was scanned in your "My Documents" folder. If it's scanned as a picture, the folder will appear in "My Pictures." That's IF it's working. Mine sometimes looks like it's scanning but nothing saves at all.

Usually the file will end up in:

My Documents (if user is Fred, then Fred's Documents) > My Scans > Folder dated today (ie. 2009-12-21)

'unable to save file. the system cannot find the path specified'

Had this same problem and just fixed it. You need to actually change the button settings in Navigator. Open MP navigator and choose One-Click, then click Button Settings. You can choose a new save destination from here. Even though you are using the software instead of the button on the device, it works.

Hp printer scanning prblm

Are you able to make copies only (just press copy color or copy balck and check)
And are you able to scan pictures.
If yes then make sure you are scanning from HP Director as Scan documents and follow the on screen direction.
If you do not get the option to scan documents then in HP Director go to> Settings> Scan Documents settings> You will see a option saying promt for these setting at the time of Scan> Put a check mark on that and click on Apply and ok and then try scanning document.
If this does not work the go to Start> Control panel (or Start> Settings> Control panel> Then printer and other hardware or Scanners and cameras> then Right click on the Printer icon> and scan from the options there.

HELLO

Use the following steps to scan with the Epson Scan utility:
1. Open Epson Scan by going into START, PROGRAMS, and EPSON SCAN.
2. If prompted, select your scanner from the list of models and click OK.
3. In the FILE SAVE SETTINGS window, you can designate the location, name and type of file the scans will be saved as.

-LOCATION defaults to MY DOCUMENTS. Click BROWSE if you wish to change this.
-PREFIX determines how the scan will be named. Type any name you like. You can also designate a start number.
-FILE TYPE dictates what format the scans will be saved in. ie. .JPG, .TIFF, .PDF, or .PICT)
-For example: if the prefix is "img", the start number is "1", and the format is "JPG", the name of the file saved in
PICTURES will be "IMG001.JPG". More settings for file format are found under OPTIONS.
4. Click OK once settings are changed as desired.
5. The EPSON SCAN window will open and begin scanning in FULL AUTO MODE. In FULL AUTO MODE the software makes all the decisions for you (as to what is being scanned, where it is on the flatbed, etc). This is the easiest way to scan.
6. If you want full control over the scanning process click PAUSE and change FULL AUTO MODE to HOME MODE or PROFESSIONAL MODE. In the latter two modes you can change your scan settings as desired. Click SCAN after you have selected your settings. Click CLOSE once the EPSON SCAN is finished scanning.
7. When scanning is complete, your images will be saved in the location specified on FILE SAVE SETTINGS, with the prefix and in the format you set.

Epson stylus photo RX580

When you see the File Save Settings window, you need to select the location, name, and format of the scanned image file you want to save.
  1. In the File Save Settings window, specify the file folder in which you want to save your scanned image. Click the My Documents or My Pictures radio button (Windows XP or earlier versions), or the Documents or Pictures radio button (Windows Vista or Mac OS X).
  2. If you want to select another folder, click Other, then click Browse (Windows) or Choose (Mac OS X) and select the folder. If you want to save your image on the desktop, simply click Other.
  3. Specify a file name prefix with an alphanumeric character string. A 3-digit number is automatically added to the file name, but you can change the Start Number if you like. If you are scanning multiple images at once, each image will receive a different 3-digit number.
  4. Select a file format. Depending on the format, the Options button may be available for making detailed settings.
  5. The check boxes at the bottom of the window give you these options:
  • Overwrite any files with the same name: Select this option if you want to reuse the selected file name and location and overwrite previous files with the same names.
  • Show this dialog box before next scan: Select this option if you want the File Save Settings window to appear automatically before you scan in Home or Professional Mode. If you deselect it, you must click the File Save Settings button to open the window.
  • Open image folder after scanning: Select this option if you want Windows Explorer or the Macintosh Finder to automatically open to the folder where your scanned image is saved when Epson Scan finishes scanning.
6. Do one of the following, depending on the currently selected scan mode:
  • Home or Professional Mode: Click OK. Epson Scan starts scanning.
  • Full Auto Mode: Click OK, click OK again, then click Scan. Epson Scan starts scanning.
The scanned image is saved in the file and location you chose.
