Question about Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter Xbox 360 (SKWIFIX360)

My Xbox 360 ADapter Cannot Aquire a IP Address from my Modem

I bought a Xbox 360 Wireless Internet Adapter a few days ago, and i have followed the steps, and tried every possible thing on the xbox and the Adapter Side of it and the Xbox and the router seems fine, so i turned to firewall problems, and recently tried adding the TCP 80 UDP 88 Etc etc Settings i also tried disabling my Firewalls and turning my Xbox off for 30 seconds and turning it back on etc, but nothing works, although it works perfectly when i Use the Ethernet cable to connect it to the internet, ive also tried using Auto and Static IP settings but nothing so far will work, so my conlcusion is that my Modem is set to Static, or something and i need to change it to Automatic, and try it again, But from previous efforts i am sure it wont work, so is there anything at all you can suggest, thanks.

Can u please tell me which router it is? in most of the router there is a feature call DMZ. u need to enable the DMZ in the router & then u need to provide the static ip to Xbox 360 like 192.168.1.5 etc in the default getway u need to type the router IP address & on DNS u need to try three different settings 1st on primary DNS type the router ip address like 192.168.1.1, if it didn't work try with univeral DNS try on primary DNS as 4.2.2.2 & on secondary 4.2.2.1, if this didn't work either call ur ISP and ask for the DNS server address of ur ISP and try with that.

You will need to match the wireless settings of your router and the gaming adapter.
Who is the manufacturer of your router?
connect your computer to the router with the cable and open the set up page of the router. check the wireless settings of the router SSID, Channel, security settings.
now you gaming adapter and the Router IP address should be in the same range. Suppose if the router IP address is 192.168.x.y and the default IP address of the gaming adapter is 192.168.a.b., then the number x should be equal to a. If it is not then you will need to change the IP address of the gaming adapter so that x will be equal to a.
after that open the set up page of the gaming adapter and change the wireless settings.
power cycle the router and the gaming adapter and now it should work.

Xbox 360

  1. First, turn your Router off and wait for a couple of minutes (unplug power from the wall)
  2. Turn off your modem (unplug power from the wall)
Reboot both the devices and they will obtain a new IP address.

Let me know.

XBOX 360 wireless adapter, problems with passing test!!

Ok i think we have the same problem. You can call this post a same problem / solution post. Try reseting your whole computer and router by simply unpluging everything. It should work temporarily(2 days). The reason your having this problem is because of certain settings on your router which kick in after a few days of reseting thats why it will assign an ip address temporarily.comment when you have tried this. Maybe we can help each other.

"wireless network not connected"???

Enter your IP address? If not go to http://whatismyip.com/ and enter that manually into your internet settings, on the last tab on the right of the dashboard. If the wireless adapter isn't reading the signal then you might have to reposition your router so it receives the signal.

Wireless adapter

I believe a router is necessary, however if you have an IP address and your adapter picks up the signal then I suppose it works. Check if you have an IP address at http://whatismyip.com/.
