Sjjordan96,hey just had the repair guy come today. The problem is the one way valve on the washer was clogged. Its easy to get to just remove the bottom panel of the washer and disconnect the drain hose and clear the clog.

I have an older GE dishwasher Model # GMB921HB119. The machine operates normally till it reaches what I believe is the final rince cycle and stops. The timer continues to advance, reaching the drying cycle...

Is this machine new to you or have you had it long enough to see it work properly?

If it used to work as it should then you know that there is probably a problem other than your water or soap. If you have whopping lime in your water then the problem could be in a water treatment system (softener, RO system, etc) Is there a screen and is it not plugged when you clean it? Does the machine drain the wash water properly? Does it spray in the rinse cycle?

If the screen is not plugged then it should be able to drain the wash water. If it's draining the wash water then you should get a good rinse if you're not using too much soap. If it's not draining the wash or spraying the rinse then I'd suspect the timer. If it's not draining I'd suspect a plugged screen, a solenoid valve or the timer. If it's not spraying the rinse then it's just about got to be the timer.

I have a Bosch dishwasher Model number SHU4302UC. The dishwasher takes about four hours to wash dishes. During the rinse cyle it can be running for over an hour and I will open it to look in side and find...

possibilities are that of an inefficient heating element ie..scaled up if hard water area especially. whilst the cycle is being completed then the components are working... so other than the element check the drainage for blockages (slow draining adds time) & also water pressure as low pressure adds time to the filling..

The dish washer fills and wash cycle begins, however stuck at wash does not progress to rinse cyle

you should check the heating element. if the water is not hot enough, the timer will not advance. crack open the door mid-cycle. let the water stop flying around. then open it all the way up. if you don't get a big ball of steam, you have an indication that your heating element may not be working properly. this is not too hard to check the resistance with a multimeter and then replace, if necessary. good luck

My dishwasher will fill with water, but when the wash cyle starts it does not sound like the blades are turning it makes noise, but does not wash

remove the occilating blades and rinse with water
water needs to go through the blades for them to spin, so if no water is flowing through them you need to clear them.

Dishwasher doesnt drain on wash cycle,ok on rinse cycle

Change the circuit board, timer/progrsmer.
Take it out and clean contacts,
Look for burnt circuit line and solder a fine bead carefully on the circuit board, difficult. Use the pot and pan program.

Kenmore dishwasher various problems

The portable dishwashers of the 70's and 80's often had one area of problem, and that was the pump getting jammed with debris and food.

To eleminate this problem, you will need to open up your dishwasher carefully, and drain all the water and gunk from your dishwashers rinse hose. I recommend taking the machine outside and use a low setting pressure hose (garden hose). With the hose off the rinse side, run the water through and see if it comes out of the pump's housing. Let it run for a few minutes.

The pump also has a switch that also goes with the run cycle. This switch thinks there is not enough water or it thinks it has done its job.

Sometimes replacing the timer helps, but first eliminate the lower hose situation first. If that doesn't help, you will need to then replace timer. If this doesn't help, most likely your pump is most likely jammed or malfunctioning.

If your water level is below the heating element that is normal after a wash. Some unit the water will not always drain (relates normally to low water pressure or hose length or height)

If your water level is below the heating element and your dishes ALWAYS clean then its fine, the water drains out before a new wash so you are not using the same water

if water is above heating element, run garbage disposal to clear lines if one is installed, if not you could have a clogged line/hose/sump/filter

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
