My washing machine suddenly starting shaking/moving and making a huge noise while washing. I had to turn it off. Does anyone have any ideas please? It's only about 3 years old. Thanks!
If the sound is a grinding noise, this is usually a symptom of a gear case (transmission) going bad. However, it could also indicate a motor coupling that's starting to fail. If you look under the washer check for any drips or puddles of oil. If you find any, the transmission has begun leaking and needs to be replaced. If you find a black powdery looking substance, this is an indication of a motor coupling that is failing. I hope this may help you. Let me know what you find.

Thank you very much. I checked and neither of these seem to be issue..
recently our washing machine started to make a rattling noise from the rear of the washing machine. It does not appear to be a bearing noise.
