Question about TruTech TT1620 DVD Recorder

CD player stucks at READING

My audio system freezes when I put a CD in it, it shows READING on the display and everything freezes, even at that time I am unable to shut it down properly as well. The problem has been started recently. I have already reset the system to factory default and I have opened the system and cleaned dust inside, though I was unable to find the lens there.

I would say your player is proably getting a lil old and maybe damaging the cd itself as most due overtime even the most pristine kept cd will catch scratches from being put into the player I would suggest taking a can of compressed air to your player to ensure the lense is clean

Hello Mr. Varghese,

Your LG dvd player's lens might need cleaning. It is having a hard time reading those cds that is why it sometimes skips or just stops in the middle of playing them. Does this happen also to new cd's? Sometimes cleaning those cds helps the lens reading them.

If you have a disk cleaner, you can run that for 30 seconds on your player. It that does not help, then you might need to open your DVD player's casing and clean the lens manually by opening your player, get a soft cotton earbud and damp in an alcohol and gently wipe your dvd's lens. Then try to return back everything and test playing cd.

DVD not responding

try another dvd if the same your laser pick-up is defective . You could try a cleaner ,but in most cases if this works it is only temporary. Unfortunately the laser in all likelyhood will have to be replaced. Can be expencesive .

Froze at "Reading"

If you are lucky to have a normality relapse, maybe after resting the DVD recorder for a while, you could try 2 firmware updates found here - But theres a 99% chance that you're stuck in the initial setup mode(have you just puirchased it?) - if you wish to skip this setup press- > enter > return > enter - on the remote panel, make sure to press every button only once. If you wish to go through with setting up the date/time etc, then follown the instructions in this addendum to the manual: Good luck
